Do you all remember last week, when Republican Presidential (Hilariously) Hopeful Ben Carson said that we know that gayness is a choice, due to all these dudes go to prison, and they end up doing Guy Sex while they're in there? And how when they get out of prison, they never sexxx a lady again, due to they have been cured of their heterosexuality, by the guy who runs the prison gang? (He didn't say that part, but we're taking it to its natural conclusion.)
I didn't mean to come across as harsh on you, my apologies. I love my straight friends!! I just wanted to explain why the choice is hard on us! I wish it could be the way you describe it!
Still a stupid comment on my part which highlights the fact that even well meaning members of a majority who know nothing about living within a minority can be part of the problem.
I think at this point the "choice" argument is pretty much impossible to make in mainstream politics. But it is worth noting that the term "sexual orientation" only replaced "sexual preference" in the 80s and 90s. The idea of sexuality as biological largely became dominant because of its usefulness in litigation strategy for cases predecated on the Equal Protection Clause. And so its relatively new as a widespread idea.
My heart kind of broke yesterday when I saw a thing about Carson's surgery career on Steve Kornacki's show. Back in '87, he was apparently part of a team of dozens that helped separate some twins conjoined at the head.
So now to see someone like that spouting this kind of bullshit... it's like you need a big brain to be so stupid.
My point was that I like escargot, hate liver. Don't know if it is dependent upon billions of years of evolution, or if I just hate fucking liver because I do.
Are those the ones that stick up from the floor or drop down from the ceiling? I never can remember.

No offense taken at all, but lesson learned.

Nah, he's more useful as veep. More fun also, too.
Are you sure he wasn't born that way?
It's obvious it didn't (tre)pan out for him.
at least it's not a pile of schist.
Hillz ought to make him her veep as well. (No term limits on the office of VP.)
I suppose a bisexual can "choose" which way to swing. For people at the ends of the spectrum, it's pretty much wired in.
They won't find a smart one, pretty much by definition.
They come in pairs. I had a couple when I was a lad.
It's a benign stupidoma, or is it malignant?

uhh...exactly..
