When I was 13 my cousin taught me how to drive a manual '51 Studebaker. She had several over the next few years: a really hot turquoise and white Nash convertible and an all white Avanti that was stunning to look at and thrilling to drive ( but automatic instead of manual so points lost on that.)

This was in Indianapolis where I grew up (barf) and they were cheap used cars for teens.

Also, on this day of encouragement, I encourage all of you to pray for the death of the kidfucker.

I found some pictures I had stashed away.

Forgot all about them.

Old age. Weed. Old age and weed. A couple of them are pretty decent - you should go look !

Trump toot, yesterday: "When I say something, I mean it! The $5,000 Dividend will happen because the People of our Country deserve it. VOTE REPUBLICAN — MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN," Trump wrote on Truth Social. Trump also pointed to the $1,776 "Warrior Dividend" payments distributed to eligible military service members in December 2025. "Everyone said it could not be done, but it was," Trump wrote, adding that "our Military Patriots got the money, and loved it.""

AP, Dec 2025: "The “Warrior Dividend” that President Donald Trump announced during his televised address to the nation Wednesday, December 17, 2025, is not a Christmas bonus made possible by tariff revenues, as the president suggested. Instead, the $1,776 payments to troops are coming from a congressionally-approved housing supplement — money they were already set to receive — that was a part of tax cut extensions and expansions bill signed into law in July. Trump’s administration identified the source of the “dividend” payments Thursday."

Did you know that September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month? I didn't, but it was 3 years ago (in September even) when I became personally aware because I was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer. I've been through some shit because of this, and it would have been easier if we caught it earlier. 1 in 8 men will get it, and 1 in 6 black men. Joe Biden has it and it spread to his bones. My Grampa Joe had it and it spread to his bones and he died from it. I've lost two friends who had it spread to their bones. Avoid stage 4! It's the debbil!

Now, more coffee.

Got a very dear friend who just finished chemo and is starting the next round of treatment. ALL: please use your insurance benefits to access your covered care! All it takes to detect major heath issues is a blood test! We love you all.

Whatever it is, Newt Gingrich had it in the early 1980s, when he would declaim, orate to his followers . . . i.e., to nobody in an empty House chamber after hours.

I was just waking from my Saturday AM nap 😴 when someone knocked at my door. Of COURSE, it was Jehova's Witnesses, and I flipped it on them. I said, "Oh, well, I am a non-believer, but I do a lot of work with the homeless, and I encourage any group that supports helping the unhoused. Whatever you believe, I hope you vote people who have a solution to the problem." The woman said, "Do you think it will ever get fixed?" And I said, "If we vote for people who will fix it, then I do think it will. There is enough food in the world to feed everyone. Nobody should ever be hungry."

It's about how you vote, not about what you believe.

SkeptiKC's avatar

THIS is how it is done, comrade. You are an example for us all.

Diane's Less Hostile Username's avatar

Thank you. My question to EVERY believer is "What are you doing to solve hunger?" We have enough food in this country, what is blocking it from getting to people is leadership.

The Catholic church could feed us ALL abundantly for more than a few meals and still be offensively over the top wealthy.

Looked on the intertubes for Studebaker nicknames. Best one: "South Bend Vibrator."

On my first trip to Germany (1989); Regensburg, I think, our group was leaving a local bar and across the street was parked a very mint looking 1960’s Studebaker Hawk with German plates. Always wondered about the history of how that car got to that place.

This is absolutely wonderful, great, and beyond AWESOME! Nashville International Airport is going to change its name to Dolly Parton International Airport. The consensus to change the name wasn't challenged by a single solitary vote. The vote was 6-0 in favor. The Fucktater is gonna be a little miffed about this one.

Didn’t Fozzie drive a Studebaker in The Muppet Movie?
