Be thankful yours did not re-animate. The ones my kids got DID. They were fun while they were tiny, zippy dots but then they grew. They are serious cannibals and so we ended up with one, about an inch and a half long or so, and it was so hideous that my kids refused to go in the bathroom where the damn thing lived.

I hope all the gay people in Hollywood who had to be in the closet got together with the people they loved most.

Small humble-brag here, I actually bellhopped at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in 1980 where the very first Academy Awards, referenced above were held.

Wings used footage of actual WWI dogfights. When you see a biplane disappear into a bank of clouds trailing smoke, chances were good someone died.

Sea Monkeys are threatened, sadly, because the Great Salt Lake in Utah is dying, and causing terrible heavy metal poisoning by it, too. Artemia salina are these incredible arthropods that undergo *CRYPTOBIOSIS* (allowing them rehydration life from a state of “death”). My theory is these are Western Interior Seaway adaptations from ponding (the shallow sea that filled the interior of N. Am, Texas, OK, etc. was never well-connected with the ocean and retreated slowly, allowing for massive concentration of ocean halides (salts)).

is that the story with those frogs and toads they keep finding in the trunks of trees - alive - where they have been for - AGES. Fortean frogs.

My longing for and experience with Sea Monkeys was the very same. Thx so much! I’m still laughing.

Clara Bow has a surprisingly uplifting life story after she left Hollywood. I love her lovely elastic features which made her really good at expressing her characters in the Silent days.
