The hot topic on Google News tonight is "Unemployment." Something about Labor Day Weekend and 9.6% official joblessness, we guess. The last 40 years or so haven't been so hot, for America. But at least we had good music -- hard times used to be especially good for popular and folk song!
Jeeeebus Ken, I get back, driving 5 hours, from a pretty good gig at the Wisconsin Ashland County Fair doing a Patsy Cline and Loretta Lyne tribute show and I thought I'd unwind at Wonkette. 3 fucking great music videos... nice. I'm awestruck by Muddy Waters making a hopelessly out of tune guitar sound great while some white people are insisting on clapping (approximately) on 1 and 3. And then... and then you wrap it up with Dana Milbank quotes about the economy? I'm going to bed now.
Wow, that Ray Charles version of Lucky Ol' Sun is amazing. Not only for the performance, but the fact that the house is packed to the gills with white folks, thoroughly enjoying his music, who would've made Ray sit in the back of the bus. I can't wrap my mind around that at all.
Dark hole of meaninglessness.
People I'd love to see unemployed: John Boehner Joe Lieberman Michele Bachmann Jeff Sessions
Unemployed people I wish we'd never hear from again: Sarah Palin Fred Thompson Dick Cheney Liz Cheney
Please add any I've forgotten.
People we're glad to see without a job: George Bush Dick Cheney Don Rumsfeld Rick Santorum Fred Thompson
Portland has 11 distilleries and the Austin area has 3 or 4.
And once cannabis is made legal somewhere in the West coast . . . .
i was hoping one of my three unions would help with the whole 'no job thing' but no, it's not really happening.
happy labor day everyone!
Not any more. Willie had a talk with him about Iraq.

Anyone know who is playing the Dobro on the Haggard tune? Nice.
