I know we all want to be joyful and I wish I wasn't the Eeyore, but these people are not going away. Nor are the Vibes voters. Nor is the right-wing media apparatus. Nor are the billionaires or Citizens United.
We've landed at Normandy. There's still a long way to figurative Berlin. And if we reach figurative Berlin, there's eternal vigilance required from those who come after that it never happens again. Because they'll never stop. They'll never rest. They'll keep coming. They'll keep trying. And if people become forgetful of that, they will be back and they might learn from their prior mistakes.
OT: When I moved to CO twenty-three years ago, this state was pretty goddamn red. Shit, this state went Shrub twice and even voted Dole in 1996. The first meeting of the county Democratic party I attended was five people in this one very nice lady's living room. (That nice lady will be wrapping up a fine career next year when her 8-year run as Colorado's Lt. Governor ends. https://ltgovernor.colorado.gov/ )
CO is quite blue now, and has been for awhile. But it took years and years, and there were more than a few setbacks along the way. Looking at the full scope of what happened in TX, OH, KS and elsewhere the other night gives real insight into how much damage Fatberg has done in the GOP and red states. Two years into Fatberg 2.0, the GOP got fucking clownhammered all up and down the ballot in TX of all fucking places!
I have known a few naturalized citizens like Dhillon, in thrall to American conservatism and totally disdainful of immigrants who arrived here by some other path.
Reading this, I thought about this passage from the extraordinarily beautiful and moving Sophocles play, "Oedipus at Colonus." The scene is when King Theseus comes to deal with the stranger who is treading on sacred ground at Colonus. Theseus recognizes Oedipus and welcomes him warmly, saying:
"It would be something dire indeed to make me leave you comfortless; for I too was an exile. I grew up abroad, and in strange lands I fought as few men have with danger and with death. Therefore no wanderer shall come, as you do, and be denied my audience or aid. I know I am only a man; I have no more to hope for in the end than you have."
Nice reference. See also: the Hebrew Old Testament about welcoming the stranger, and the Christian Gospel about caring for one's neighbor. Fundamentalist worshipers of their God of Greed/Evil/Violence don't get it. No wonder Trump is their Messiah.

Conservatives ideologically believe in a hierarchy of kinds of people but individually believe they should exist outside of it. Power lets them live out that fantasy.
Thors junior for a time was purchasing and selling precursors for meth production. We had a long talk about it. Yes, you get munny for it, and that can be hard to come by sometimes, but it can REALLY hurt people.
I flicked a quarter at one, stopped at a red light, and the guy actually got out and looked around, probably bad judgment on my part; it was just pissing me off.
I made myself scarce. Not worth getting shot over or whatever.
My MAGAt neighbor with the wrapped one I hope ends up with a dumpster in front of his house that ultimately gets towed by the city. Can't imagine parts and servicing are going to be easy to get in a few months.
Very weird--on Wednesday was about to give a wanking motion to the one towering over my Prius and an Asian woman was driving, with another next to her. Had literally never seen a woman driving one before.
Natalie Harp, Donald Trump’s always-at-his-side executive assistant, appears to have now taken control of the president’s personal mobile phone and is deciding who can and cannot speak to him...
Sen.-elect Abdul El Sayed (D-Mich.) dropped in for a surprise appearance Thursday night on “Pod Save America” where he described his top policy priorities as a check on President Donald Trump, whom he called “the dumbest fucking guy who ever was president.”
As for the policies?
“The No. 1 most important thing we can do is protect people from the healthcare nuclear bomb that’s about to go off in our system with Medicaid cuts … No. 2, end this stupid fucking war,” he said.
:D
Did you happen to see the most stupidest tool in the world?
She can run...but she can't hide from Jamie's subpoenas!
[There won’t ever be a next time!]

Republinazis still won White voters overall, and it wasn't even close. This makes me fucking sick.

THIS.
“she, a brown woman,”
That’s your problem right there, she thinks she’s white.
Funny -- just like that other Dartmouth* product, Dinesh D'Souza.
* For when you're rejected by all six of the good Ivy League schools.
"Not even a little bit. ... I don't think about Americans' financial situation. I don't think about anybody."
One wonders, was this the crack that burst the dam?
What, because he told the truth, for once, the illusion was shattered?
Ta, Brooke. Harmeet Dhillon? Russ Vought? All the rest of the criminals and enablers? January 2027 is not far off. Winter is Coming.
Right-wing media sure has shut up about "elections having consequences"
Funny, that.
And suddenly we're getting spammed with ads for AI just as the bubble's bursting.
Funny that too.

ETTD, indeed!
Colorado might have benefitted a bit from a California diaspora.

Plus, see Usha Vance. Some of the most arrogant students I have ever had are high-caste Indian women. It's been distressing at times.

Another top DOJ official resigns. Gee, maybe there’s something going on at Justice that Garcia and Raskin need to look into.

The sheer perversity of these people’s behavior is a bit much for even me to stomach.
I have a friend who got into some very shady criminal stuff a while back.
Another friend remarked "Yeah, he's bad. Even by our standards."

NEW: Interior Secretary Doug Burgum has tens of millions of dollars invested in the AI industry.
Meanwhile, he is leading the Trump administration’s charge to allow tech companies to build data centers on the public lands he oversees.
Another bit of cope on the Sinclair station on the break room TV was republicans lost because people don’t like data centers.
Time to pop that bubble!
Trump, probably: "I don't see a problem."
RIP Cybertruck. You Were Unloved, Unwanted, and Utterly Absurd.
It just like me for real...
Like its “creator.”

I only wish Fuks was around to see this.
21 point and laugh salute.
If you have some time, this one is really fun... dude just SHREDS a Cybertruck testing it against the F150.

Oooooh spellcheck says Cybertruck ain't a word. How appropriate.
Finally, my middle fingers will get some rest on the roads.

The guy who can launch the nukes can’t be trusted with his own cell phone. Parents of preteens can probably relate.
So charges for Natalie?
She's the wet nurse, not the charge nurse.
