I made a sign. My neighbors have a Harris/Walz banner up. I decided to reply to them!

Finishing my story today, I was thinking a bit today about the whole Haitian blood libel that the GOP ticket is recklessly pushing (and if/when you read today's gif post in an hour, it'll be obvious why). It's not true, of course, but let's say that a population of immigrants was so desperate for food that they had to resort to eating pets. Particularly in the wealthiest country in the world. So if it were true, it would be an illustration of how America's policies were failing, which seems like *that* would be a fruitful line of discussion for politicians. Of course, the Republicans have absolutely no desire to push any policies that would help anybody but the wealthy. Still, that they think vilifying an entire population rather than policy shaming over hunger is a more winning strategy, that says something about how they think and how they operate, and what they value as important.
