Friday was just another day in post-racial America, with a bunch of cops descending on a disturbance at a pool party in McKinney Texas and handcuffing a whole bunch of black kids who may mostly have been bystanders. One officer has been placed on leave
I think (???) they have to tell you if you're actually placed under arrest for having committed a crime for which they plan on charging, but I have seen instances where groups of people are temporarily cuffed and sat on the curb without necessarily 'gonna go to jail' while the cops get things under control. I feel they should have to tell you as much. I have seen it on COPS (LOL) where the cuffing officer has said things like "You're not being placed under arrest but we're just gonna put these on until we figure out what's going on here". Whether they're bullshitting when they say that, who knows. In the instance of my friend yanking her hand away from the cuff, it was the fact that it had been a domestic disturbance and she had been assaulted (yes, pregnant) by her mate but had NO idea when they came that they'd cuff both of them. A simple hesitation to the act of being cuffed because the police won't tell you why can get your ass kicked. That should not be ok.

The community had a rule: Only 2 people per household in the pool area. A bunch of people heard about the party and the capacity was exceeded. The security guy tried to keep all the extra people that showed up, that heard about the party through facebook , out. They told him to fuck off and jumped the fence. He called the cops. In the meantime a couple of fights broke out. When the cops did show up the fine upstanding teens that wern't doin nuffin also told the cops to fuck off and this is the result. Spare me the racist bullshit.
"Couple" of fights? The only fight that has been reported (and video-recorded) is the fight that occurred between two grown-ass white women and one black teen. What were the circumstanced of the other fight? Who were the participants in that fight?
Face it- every incidence of violence that occurred around that situation was initiated by adult white people. Who are the "thugs", again?
