See, this is the kind of news that allows me to keep my belief that "the south" is a horrible shithole populated by the kind of stereotypical rednecks and hillbillies that gave rise to my deeply held stereotypes in the first place.

I'm reminded of the truism that volunteer fire departments attract arsonists and firebugs. Nasty people who love to wield a little extra power are probably drawn to these local magistracy gigs. And also school boards.

It's a good thing racism is over, otherwise incidents like this might be misconstrued as indicating that black and disabled people face extra obstacles in the courts. Instead it is, of course, Just Some Guy being a private asshole.
