Nothing says we Republicans LOVE our military than cancelling SNAP benefits for veterans without a 20 hour per week documented work requirement!!!! And kicking HOMELESS people off of SNAP??? They are HOMELESS!! How in the ??? are they supposed to "work" 20 hours per week and document it, if they are homeless??? I let homeless people live at my farm when I had it. They were INCAPABLE of meeting the 20hr/week requirement. That is WHY they were HOMELESS. What is wrong with you Republicans?? What do you Senators and Representatives believe will happen when these SNAP benefits are cut? These people won't just go away and die. They will get food one way or another. Maybe they will come knocking on your front doors for food like people did during the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl.

I grew up in the rust belt where there was a relative paucity of public land, so the issue probably wouldn't have resonated with me had I stayed in Ohio. I currently live in Idaho, where about 1/3 of the state that is public land. Idahoans may be regressive conservatives, generally speaking, but they love their public land. Selling off public lands would go over like a lead balloon around here.

"Remember, the “Byrd Rule” for reconciliation bills limits them to measures involving taxing and spending"

What, exactly, will make the RINOs pay any attention to a rule that will limit their immense asshattery? Laws haven't stopped them, the Constitution hasn't stopped them, nor has the Judiciary. A surprising large number of judges have tried to make MAGAdroids obey the law, decisions the RINOs have flat out ignored, twisted decisions to claim victory (the Supremes voted 9-0 on a decision to force the gubmint to bring Mr Abrego Garcia back to the US, which the RINOs claimed was 9-0 in their favor), or running to SCOTUS every time they don't like a judge's opinion (and with the exception of Abrego Garcia and a few other cases the Roberts' Court has found in favor of the illegal, extralegal, and unconstitutional actions the current regime is trying to implement via Executive Diktat). When push comes to shove I expect the RINOs to ignore the Congressional Parliamentarian and approve the reconciliation bill (and I doubt we'll see any justice from the SCOTUS justices who will vote 6-3 or 5-4 in favor of the Fulvous Fuckwad because... fear).

-----

"the brainchild of Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) who says he wants to give it another try, this time just auctioning off BLM land near cities and towns"

But only of lands around cities and towns with a blue government, lands around red towns and cities will remain sacrosanct since we can't deny the residents of these cities access to federal lands that provide them some R&R. Lee (R-ShitForBrains) knows who [read: MAGA voluntarily and the rest of us via extortion] is going to pay the gubmint bills for the creation of general chaos targeting the libs and every other demographic the RINOs oppose.

-----

"It’s really kind of impressive how many “extraneous” environmental measures Republicans put into the bill"

To the RINOs, these provisions aren't extraneous; they know, deep down, that stand-alone fucking of the environment will piss off enough voters that the asshats might not get reelected. IMO, a majority of people would prefer to be able to drink relatively clean water, breathe relatively clean air, and vacation in locales that don't resemble the Yellowstone Sulfur Pools.

-----

"But the bill can and does eliminate funding for new EV delivery trucks, forcing USPS to buy gas guzzlers instead as it modernizes its vehicle fleet."

There is one key factor that the cost equation seems to ignore. USPS regulations require that delivery vehicles must be turned off each and every time a delivery person steps out, no matter for how long. While I can't find a number, this policy must cause a constant burnout of starters -- which aren't really cheap;

> "A brand-new starter can range from $80 to over $350. For a qualified mechanic to replace or rebuild your starter, you can expect to pay between $150 and over $1,100." https://www.autozone.com/diy/starter/starter-replacement-cost

--or--

> "◾ Aftermarket starter: $100 – $250+

◾ OEM starter: $150 – $400+

◾ Labor costs: $100 – $600+

◾ Most common cost ranges: between $250 – $1,000+" https://www.lastchanceautorepairs.com/how-much-does-starter-replacement-cost/ [a local auto repair company in IL]

All MAGA world will hear is cheaper deadly weapons and tax cuts. They will absolutely not read the fine print that what’s in the bill disproportionately takes food and money away from the poorest to pay for the tax cuts which actually don’t lower their taxes at all. That their cost of living will increase far outpacing inflation just so those poor billionaires can buy another vacation home in Fiji. Did I mention that the poorest people that rely on those programs they want to cut live in ruby red states?

They arealdy bought the White House. And most of the congressional republicans. Even though musk is the only one talked about because of the outrageous amount he spent to buy himself a president that would give him all the contracts he wants with zero transparency. The NRA, big oil, and tech billionaires are already running the government from the inside. !7 billionaires in the administration proves it.

While Morgan told the outlet she did not vote in the previous presidential election, her family has supported Trump in the past and now feels betrayed.

“Everyone feels like a fool and regrets the decision. I personally didn’t vote in the last election, and neither did my parents. At this point, I believe there are bad people on the left and the right,” Gardner said.

What can I say? This was all on the ballot but there wasn't the clout to be had in listening to the Harris/Walz ticket and *everyone* on down, including AOC and Bernie who implored everyone to not throw away the transformational progressive legislation.

Now we just have to hope and pray that the incompetence of all the different factions of the unreconstructed Republican Party won't allow them to come to an agreement. Or somehow (as what happens sometimes) the pricktator torpedoes his own bill by running his mouth. Then again the accountability would only go to Democrats anyway.

Of course a lot of Americans are all for this. Knowing that many people will suffer feels great because many of those people will be of the vulnerable minorities they hate. And sticking it to universities makes sure that there are fewer havens for the women with "danger hair" who won't fuck chuds, of course. Or safe havens for trans people.

And yes it's hurting them too. Yes, it's destroying the "seed corn," but in the end as long as Black, queer, any minority they hate is dying face down in a ditch it's all worth it.
