Did you do high school journalism way back in the day when you had to do layout with a knife and the hot glue roller thing, or was that just us? SHUT UP WE ARE NOT THAT OLD. High school journalism has gotten downright good looking in the Internet era and apparently also got hard-hitting, which is a lot different than when we had to do fluff columns on the football teams.
I was hoping you'd grab Kuhlmeier, partly because I grew up in Hazelwood, and partly because I argued the Hazelwood side at moot court a year later (spoiler: we won, on similar grounds to the Supremes' actual ruling about 5 months after the moot court.)
This story proves what we have always known: high-school principals are mostly craven dickwads, slavish brown-nosers of parents and school boards. In this case, my guess is that the principal was embarrassed that word got out that a student at his school had been raped.
(At my school, the principal stopped the student theater from producing Lysistrata and made us do Brigadoon instead, effectively ending the theater program. Because: cultureless dickwad.)
But kudos to the journalism teacher: that's gotta be some great teacher and his or her students will go on to brilliant careers in whatever industry replaces newspapers.
In my opinion, while it was bad enough, if not particularly suprising, that the principal clamped down what the students could cover, it is even worse that he is ignoring students concerns about sexual assault. Just remember kids, if it's complicated and scary, we don't want to know about it.
When I was in HS (Early Cenozoic), newspaper was a version of English class, so not so easy to resign from. Of course, we didn't have electives, so that might be a pretty big difference.
This Presnit has been trampling all over the Constitution. We need to bring back somebody who respects the Constitution, all the Constitution, but especially the Bill of Rights. Does anybody have his predecessor on speed-dial? Can't remember his name.... Vlad, Dick, something like that.
One of the STUPIDEST teachers I have worked with in the last 25 years is now a vice-prinicipal. One of the laziest is now a superintendent.
I'm glad I've got 2 years til retirement. Not even a department head, never wanted to be one.
I made a "Bush and Dick" joke in a pro-Dubya column and then had to print an apology in the next issue. Good times . . .

Who else doesn't want victims to ever talk about rape? Rapists. QED: PRINCIPAL IS RAPIST!!!1
And if you never read a story about unemployment, job creators will always have one waiting for you.

Some Fond du Lac high school students are smarter than at least one Lacrosse college student.
I learned this on Wonkette, so it must be true!

Looks like Walt did. I suppose it's never too soon to start.
Is our children learning about rape? Apparently only through first-hand experience, which is truly awful.
Woulda been OK as long as they blamed the President instead of Repubs.
Gouda here, you two, and get a room.
Not a good year for Cardinals, Tiger.
