Despite no campaigning, the phony candidate received some 6300 votes. Artiles was finally convicted of several charges in October of this year, despite the crimes being committed in 2020, and was sentenced earlier in November to 60 days in jail and 5 years probation.
Despite all this, Ileana Garcia was re-elected by a wider margin in 2022, but apparently wont face another election until 2026.
Ileana Garcia is a "true-red" TFGist, who has made several "questionable" moves since 2020, including aintroducing a bill to re-imburse $5 million in TFGs' legal fees in early 2024 ( which luckily went nowhere )
