Just hung him up.

They seem to keep defending child molestation and incest with, "who here didn't have sex with their brother or sister growing up?"

"But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea."

Just a thought....

[Josh Duggar] "lived an exemplary life..."

Sure... if you call serving as Executive Director of a hate group 'living an exemplary life'...

Ew: http://www.splcenter.org/ge...

"ok to be disrespectful"

Are you implying that we are required to demonstrate respect for people who teach that child rape is perfectly acceptable because 'Christian'?

Are you telling us that we should demonstrate "respect" for people who head up hate groups and promote child abuse? Ahem: http://www.splcenter.org/ge...

Nope. Go peddle your pity elsewhere.

As much as I so love it when we can bring ourselves to turn the perpetrators into "victims"...

Sorry. the Josh Duggar sympathy tour needs to end. These Duggar maniacs are promoting the Gothard lunacy all over the country (including adult Josh), via CPAC even, and they know perfectly well what they're doing: http://observer.com/2014/12...

There's way more to this than some teenage psychosis.

No. You might want to reread my post. I never said that child rape is ok, or that being "christian" excuses it, or that you should respect people who believe those things. I don't think there should have been no consequences, and I certainly don't think that some kind of phony repentance makes it ok, or that having a fucked up childhood excuses being a homophobic, misongyninst dickwad as an adult. I have plenty of disdain for the man Josh turned out to be.

All I'm trying to say, and its pretty simple really, is that a 14 year old kid--again, not the adult he grew up to be--who likely had blanket training for fucks sake, deserves some measure of sympathy, and was less criminally liable than the ADULTS who allowed the situation to take place and then continue. I stand by this belief, no matter how much you refuse to try to understand or even consider it.

I think Josh should have been arrested and removed from the home. Then treatment should have been part of whatever sentence he received, followed up by many years of probation and registration as a sex offender if they do that with juveniles. The kid was dangerous.

And lest you think I'm not sympathetic towards his victims, I was sexually abused for thirteen years, so I have a leg to stand on.

Honestly, it's like you're misunderstanding me on purpose, or are not really reading what I wrote.

You didn't engage me in a discussion. You just made a bunch of assumptions about my opinions and then insulted me for what you believed them to be.

When I referred to respect, I was saying that I don't deserve to be insulted--accused of being a hate-group sympathizer-- just because my opinion differs from the prevailing one on this thread, and that people like you only have the balls/sense of entitlement to do so because you're hiding behind a keyboard.

I'm not some right-wing troll. I've been coming here since the Ken Layne days.

So go peddle your poor reading comprehension and baseless insults elsewhere. See, doesn't feel too good, does it?

I think I feel equal (perhaps more) anger toward the Duggar supporters. I would guess most did not grow up in this religion but seem to think we all need to shut up and let the Duggars continue to infect the airwaves.

No you don't. It is terrible, abusive, and explains a great deal about how truly fucked up the whole clan probably is.

The first thing a therapist is going to do with an abuse victim is tell them it's not their fault and try to rebuild their self esteem. Both of those are incompatible with the Duggar's view of women as temptresses who have no role in society other than babby making machines.

these people are sick and I really, really hope they keep on talking. with each word they say, they make the sane folks of the world realize just how bat-sh*t nuts these "cray-cray Christians" are.

No, I'm not going to read through all the comments to see if somebody else has noticed this:Seven or so years ago, Pop turned Josh in to the cops. Why?Since it's irresponsible not to speculate, my guess is that Josh did something to someone else's little girl that her parents objected to, and they agreed not to press charges if JimBob and clowncarvagina went to the authorities first. Which they did, to somebody on the local police force that they knew, and they could trust, who could make it all go away. Except it didn't.

Kind of remind me of an old Law & Order SVU episode that caused a lot of talk in my home. The police grabs this pedophile and finds out that a kid he used to molest grew up to become himself a pedo, but they needs his testimony to lock the ********** away for good. What about the victim(s) (can't recall the actual number) of the former victim-now predator?Well, that (fictional) character knew that what he did was bad, so no deal with the DA office and he ends up in jail too. There's a real story going on somewhere, google it, about a girl who was repeatedly raped/sexually molested by her brothers (4 or 5 of them!) until one of them 'found god' (from other 'source' than his parents) and confessed the whole stuff. He's sorry, he's really sorry and he's going to jail for what he did, and so are going his parents and his other brothers...He realized what he did and what he should do, Josh didn't.
