Yeah. We all know what "fake news" means now, since it started coming out of Donald Trump's mouth so often. It means "any news, no matter how factual or correct, that I don't like."
It's -14ºC here. That's -- does math in head -- one trillion below zero Fahrenheit. But I'm going out anyway. My white-hot hatred of Stupid Hitler should keep me warm.
As soon as I came to consciousness, if you could call it that, the Ridiculous Maine Coon Duo began to zoom across me, chase and reverse, leading to a locked door. Covfefe latte is at hand, and I can plot my strategy for overcoming resistance in the Logic of Car Buying War.
See, I prefer the team approach, respect for your partner, joint enterprise deal. I may have to take charge and overrule the insanity in this situation!!
I have learned a hard lesson. GOOD MORNING WONKVILLE!
Years ago Mrs Pixelz and I were car shopping. I had cryptically written down two numbers: our checking balance and how much we owed the credit card. During the negotiations -- Mrs Pixelz did all the negotiating for us -- she said we could make a mysteriously large down payment. I said nothing until we were outside. "How did you come up with that amount?" "I added the checking and savings amounts from your note." I explained the mistake. I laughed then, and I laugh now. She was so good to me. The hard lesson: Never disagree with your wife/partner in public.
Man, I slept good last night. Dreamed I was getting cussed out by kink partner's ex wife for letting their son take the train to Baltimore after not having realized Baltimore was half was across the country. In the dream she said she didn't "like the looks of me," to which I said to kp, "she's really going to have a problem with me if that's the case." That's about where I woke up just about to talk in my sleep--sometimes the words come out as I turn over.
Work today. This week will be extra long because I worked part of yesterday. I got lots done but I still have loads to do. It's been busy enough I brought back my daily TO DO list to keep me on track. Breaking up the big tasks over several days is quite helpful, you know.
Oh, but before I go to sleep, this is really exciting! I found out today that cats were cats for millions of years before people were people. I wonder if they’ve been essentially breeding us to develop our characteristics of suitability to serve them.
My Old friends have been sadly complaining to me that they can't trust anything anymore because so much of it is AI slop. They are withdrawing from socials because of it. They are frustrated.

But I'm only 5 miles away.
Woodstock, Illinois is 499 miles from Punxsutawney Pa.
And parking would still be a bitch.

You piqued my (very slight, at this point) interest. -24C real temp, here. Or -12FuckedUp.
Warming up this week!
Semi-old news, but a good read into how Elno keeps moving the goalposts. TL;DR? Elno is not a geen-yus. Why did the company board KEEP HIM?

They call us "the box makers".
"They're on to us..."
"Is it time for Phase Two?"
This explains a lot.

Ooh, I hope so!
Could we, maybe, this time stop/slow the technology before the harms get too excessive? Like maybe not repeat the social media harms?

I hear it's only Olds who like AI.
My Old friends have been sadly complaining to me that they can't trust anything anymore because so much of it is AI slop. They are withdrawing from socials because of it. They are frustrated.
Al Lewis was cool.
And kids who don't know any better, who are already predisposed to ignore their teachers warning them about it.
My 13 year old niece who used to call things "sus" now says "that's AI" when she thinks something is bullshit. She got that from her friend group.
Yeah, I don't mean all kids, just the ones most vulnerable to scams.
I'm getting to the point where my default assumption of anything that's not from a trusted source is that it's probably AI or at least staged.
