Radical concept: Maybe they don't get their beliefs from their power base. Obama is not your father's president... and nobody's Chicago politician.

It's like a test. If she wants to live in the White House another 4 years, she'll say something innocuous like "people don't need a piece of paper to love each other". If she wants out of that hell hole, she'll say "I'm looking forward to the day I can gay marry Nancy Pelosi so she can move into the White House."

God changed his mind - what's the big deal? And if God does it, you can't give Mitt a hard time for switching positions as his <strike>conscience</strike> convenience dictates.

There's always the possibility, which we don't like to think about, that the Obamas are not, personally, in favor of gay marriage. We like to imagine that they have the standard issue ivy-college-liberal set of beliefs, but it's hardly a sure thing. Black Christian churches aren't exactly hotbeds of gay rights activism!

When Barry is finally forced to go on the record, and says that it's up to the states, you'll know he's just not that into it.
