I thought he had a very good start to his term, settling things down through COVID and scoring a huge infrastructure bill. By 2023 I believed Joe had achieved his goals and the pinnacle of his career by displacing Trump and surviving that attempted coup. He took a weekend break in summer, 2023 to contemplate running again or not. I expected him to announce he would not run, claim victory over Trumpism and throw his full support at Kamala or whoever became the presumptive nominee. His SOTU address in March, 2024 was pretty impressive. The GOP even clutched their pearls and claimed Joe was mean and nasty to them. Sadly, the media and public’s memories are short. Just 4 months later, his debate performance was the new story. I love Biden. He’s a good man and he weathered an ugly storm and served as an undeserved villain for MAGA, and probably always will simply because he got older and less sharp. Even the 2025 speeches he’s given have been fine. He’s still a capable man. But there is no denying a 52 or 62 year old Biden would still be potus right now. He just would be.

I believe that pardons require an admission of guilt. Also, Presidential pardons don't cover state crime.
