The argument I've seen from the Left - and don't jump down my throat on this, I am NOT endorsing this, I am looking for arguments against it - is that it's too late to go for impeachment now, because everything Trump does before impeachment is "the new normal"; that once impeachment goes in, the question from the press and the Senate will be "why didn't you do this before now?"; the moral high ground is lost; and the people really being fucked over by Trumpism don't turn out for the election in despair because the Democrats did nothing when it counted.

This has been my thinking. I mean, nothing quite says “This man is a clear and present threat to our country, our democracy, the world even” quite like slow-walking impeachment for political purposes.

If trump were impeached today Pence would become president and Nancy would lose her leadership position and only have a tie breaking vote.Pence is the roadblock to impeachment much the same as Dan Quayle was for poppy Bush.

Maybe I'm just thick this morning, but what does Pence becoming president have to do with Speaker Pelosi's position as House Speaker.

Why would Nancy lose her position? She'd still be Speaker--and next in succession. I only regret that on this timeline we can't get rid of Pence fast enough to put Nancy in the White House.

Check the graphs improvements on employment and GDP have slowed over that demonstrated by Obama. This is despite Trump injecting all kinds of money into the economy by running record deficits. From my perch in the manufacturing sector I can tell you that wheels about ready to come off. When that happens I'm sure you will be back and blame it on Clinton and Obama because that's what trolls like you do. Also please fuck off.

Looking at your other comments since you joined a few days ago, I want to offer you some feedback: In English, we use what are known as articles to indicate whether nouns are specific or general. I understand that what I just wrote may not make sense to you, because this is not a feature of many languages. However, I see that you often fail to include articles where native English speakers and fluent students of the language do. Until you learn to incorporate articles into your work on social media, you will continue to be easy to spot as a paid troll.

Good luck to you in your future endeavors.

In response, you say that everything done before now was establishing that it isn't a partisan witch hunt. It was giving the Trump administration the chance to come clean and respond to subpoenas, or even testify of their own free will. I, personally, am inclined to think that if they'd jumped on Trump right in January, it actually would have looked like the opposition party setting up a witch hunt for the independents and people who don't care much about politics. They took their time to dot the i's and cross their t's to give impeachment a chance to stick and hopefully they'll express that to the public.
