Nadler looks like the cat who swallowed the canary in that photo.

I don't think we'd been in Disneyland for more than 30 minutes when a parrot crapped on my mom's hairdo. And she was frightened of birds to begin with. Of course this happened after driving for 2 days from Colorado with 3 kids from 8 to 17. We all expected Mom to have a full bore meltdown on the spot, but once my dad picked the shit out of her hair she soldiered on.

Well it's his own damned fault he's dead now, innit?

I'll bet you'd even go just have that beer all alone, if it came to that.

Considering that the previous position was right and this one is wrong, "sorry we was wrong" would be the inappropriate sentiment.

"And maybe Democrats would have a stronger argument about the exigency of their case if they hadn't waited three months after taking the gavel to subpoena their star witness, another two months after he blew them off and refused to appear before filing suit, and then three further weeks before asking for an emergency injunction ordering him to testify."

Maybe, but no; this is a lot more likely to succeed since the Democrats with power didn't jump the gun and start everything prematurely like so many "I WANT IT NOW!!!" purity trolls kept insisting on.

As a former alcoholic-adjacent American, I love the look of a good dirty martini, but that looks like the glass at the table that everyone just dumped their remainders into.

My money is on the court throwing out the case on the basis that the House has failed to use its own power to compel testimony. Why should the court let itself be dragged into a power game between the other two branches when the Legislative branch won't stand up for itself or its own power?

You're not confused. And I was wondering the same thing.

You have to start the process somewhere. And the House Judiciary needs to get going on investigating so we can bring up articles end of this year/early next year. They're timing it so the impeachment vote gets the most political bang for their buck, i.e. October 2020. At least that's what I hope is happening.

Because Don Jr. has no capacity for irony.
