Now that the House is well-rested from its most recent two-week vacation, it's back to the hard work of working hard for hardworking Americans. By which, of course, we mean the millionaires: The House voted Thursday to repeal the estate tax, a longtime priority of Republicans that also spurred Democratic charges that the GOP is in the pockets of the rich.
Some idiot over on a friend's Facebook page is trying to argue that the government taking money from those "poor rich kids" whose parents just kicked is no different than trying to take away a kid's allowance because, after all, the kid didn't earn that money either. It's amazing the stretches the gullible will do to convince themselves that they are SMRT.
Hello Fairfield County (not counting Norwalk or Bridgeport)
Mind you it was blue collar back in the 60's when the shore was marshland and you had to truck in dirt to be able to put a house on it. Not so much now. Now the neighborhood is filled with self entitled twits. My folks house was sold, torn down and a McMansion built on it that has been sold twice in 4 years.
At our company, we have a multiplier on our life insurance if we die on the job. A coworker always said that if he dropped dead at home, his wife was to cram his corpse into their car and cart him into the office.
They reference the Death Tax in their bill even though there is no such thing as the Death Tax. Why don't they just call it the Reward Worthless Rich Douches So They Can Continue To Be Worthless Rich Douches Act?
The Republicans have never yet found a farm or small business that was harmed by estate taxes. And really, what better time is there to pay taxes than when you are dead.
EVERY FUCKING TIME they try to repeal the estate tax, they trot out "family farms." They KNOW farms are not affected by the estate tax (or they're too stupid to know it, in which case they should be growing corn themselves), but it doesn't stop them. Are these people capable of saying anything without lying?

I grew up in Connecticut and I never considered Greenwich as even part of CT. Elitist fuck weasels, the whole Gold Coast.
Yeah, they probably store the handouts right next to their guide on "How to Care for Your Yacht."
Rancho Santa Fe.
Eat Cake Tax
Of course, it's all about the family farms.
So when The Donald dies, a big chunk of his estate will go to food stamps? Now that's... hilarious!
If I remember correctly, I think the founders considered eliminating inheritance altogether.

Go on...

"Temporarily embarrassed millionaires" who can't do math -- the Republican base.

Vote to reduce taxes on the uber-rich aristocracy... but do not vote for even a one dollar increase in minimum wage... Huh. Weird.
