This literally contradicts Jesus' teachings directly regarding what he said about helping the poor and the needy.

Bu t do the right wing evangelicals, who normally do not miss a single opportunity to proclaim just how damn persecuted they are in a country that is majority Christian, including in the governing body (poor them, truly) latch on to this as a good example of that?

Nope! What they latch on to is abortion, something Jesus never spoke about. Not even Paul, who is the REAL father of Christianity, spoke about abortion.

Clearly abortion is more offensive to these fellows than not helping the poor and needy. I don't know which Jesus they are following, but it's clearly not the one mentioned in the Bible.

Evangelicals do pretty much everything Jesus said not to do, and still insist they're Christians.

When I moved to Tucson, people were being arrested for leaving water in the desert for people crossing that inhospitable stretch.

I've heard that "kind hearted" border patriots routinely slash the water jugs, thus depriving the "illegals" the ability to stay alive.

This Houston story is a sort of metaphor for the republican philosophy, anything that helps "not rich" people is outlawed. Funny that they're the party of jesus, they're the opposite of that.

If it were me, I would get as many volunteers as possible, line them up and only give them 5 meals to hand out, then when they were gone rotate them until all got a meal. :)

The problem is the city doesn't consider the unhoused "residents". They're a problem to be gotten rid of. Not feeding them is one way to go about that.

I am just furious with myself. Last weekend I tried to clean up the balcony with a hose. I had a cool hi-pressure hose head I'd managed to find, but it would not stay attached. I figured that the bit it attached to needing shortening, so I went out and also bought a hacksaw. Now I have shortened the fixture (and making it impossible to return) and the one thing that should not have happened has.

I can't locate the actual spray-head.

Totally missing in action. I have no idea what I did with it or where it could be. And there aren't a lot of spots for it to be. This is the story of my life. Things just pop in and out of my existence as I have zero attention span. Very frustrating as the item has been kicking around the my home for about a year. It's actual utility was about a half-hour. So it goes.

I am currently looking for headphones that I moved upstairs and then they disappeared when I moved back downstairs. (We were having work done downstairs). I had so much trouble over the years with keys that I attached them to my purse and never detach them (I just make sure it is a long enough cord to reach door/car). I am also missing 8 CDs which I took out of my car. EIGHT…how can you misplace 8 CDs, you ask? I don’t know, if I knew I could find them.

Those high pressure nozzles are actually impossible to keep. I buy one every couple years, use it once, put it IN THE SAME PLACE and the poof it's just gone.

They have a problem with existence.

My life too Darth, you have my commiserations. I lost an SD card for a month this spring, I swear all I did was get distracted once carrying it from office to kitchen and it vanished. A month later it showed up on the corner of a table in a different room, wouldn't be so odd if I didn't live alone.

I feel you. I am so absent-minded that I have to have my purse attached to me or I will lose it, so I have a big fanny pack. I have looked for glasses that were sitting on my nose. It's not age either, I've always been like this. I was so worried about it in college that I saw the school counselor about it and she was the one who recommended I attach things to me. Thank god my kitchen is tiny so searching for lids, utensils, whatever doesn't take long!

I just got back from vacation. Every day I carried a backpack, a fanny pack, a bottle of water, a cel phone, a camera, and who knows what else. I was constantly checking to make sure all my stuff was still attached to me.
