Something I've noticed is that most of the "evidence" at hand in these scares could easily be accounted for as drug smuggling or just drug-culture jokes. I've wondered further if some of the comparatively clever "theorists" are people who know enough about such things to have fun at the expense of general-public squares.

Like that bunch of vigilantes (in England, I believe) who years ago decided they would smoke out a notorious pedophile they thought they had recognized living in their neighborhood. I wonder about all the people who didn't know about the plot and just ordered this cabinet off of wayfair because they needed a cabinet. what did they do when they opened the box and found a kid in there just waiting to be molested? do you put the kid back in and send it back? do you have to pay for the postage on something like that? or do you just go find a guy in a van down by the river who would like a child sex slave, but can't afford the overpriced cabinet that comes with it?
