"bright-green rug with the sheriff’s official seal, which includes an outline of Florida and the motto: 'IN DOG WE TRUST'"
For those of us who believe it is offensive to make light of Dog. I had a dream the other night. I was walking on a beach with Dog. The sky flashed scenes from my life and for each scene, in the sand, I saw there were footprints and paw prints together. But then I noticed only my footprints alone. I said "Dog, why did you abandon me?". He replied, "My child, I never left. Those moments are when I stopped to pee on your leg". In Dog we trust.
FFS, Donald. I lived under the eastbound flight path of Palm Beach International twenty years ago. The jets were taking off directly over Mar-a-Lago then. They were taking off that way when you bought the damn place. STFU and take your hair for a walk or something.
On the other hand, in a pretty rare version of stupid, it looks like the intended victim survived, and the perp successfully offed himself. Unfortunately, he also managed to kill some other guy, so not actually a win. Better than some, though.
Strictly speaking, and despite the old Cubanos, the tip is the best part. It's the South Alabama and South Georgia taint that fucks the state up.
There are those of us who take great offense at having people walk on the name of Dog without first removing their shoes. Remember, there is only one Dog and thou shalt not put other Dogs before him. Glory to Dog in the highest.
"Florida Man" is the best Twitter feed ever. A never ending display of the best of Florida inhabitant anthropology, consisting of 1400+ tweets since it's inception. It's definitely light years in front of "Rhode Island Man", or "Hawaii Man" Twitter feeds, which don't even (need to) exist. due to the paucity of material.
From the linky: "The proofs the agency signed and submitted to the manufacturer, American Floor Mats, had the correct spelling."
That doesn't clarify anything for me.

Why is Batboy on the cover of the Wonkette?
What? Louisiana's only number 2? I knew we should have sent Edwin to Washington for one last hoorah.
Unless you start with the Florida legislature, or Boca Raton, which significantly increases the odds of getting someone who deserves it.
I can tell you who she isn't....someone picking up after their dog. Because no one in the entire state ever does that.

No danger there.
...where the tv is inevitably tuned to Fox News.
I love the headlines too, like "Florida man who organized deadly roach eating contest beats employees with lizard""

Your move, Alabama!

Yes, *paucity*.
$81 million for a new county sheriff's office? Did they gold-plate the guns or something?
