Rep. Eric Burlison on his constituents: "They don't want to go back to the period in which we had a Democratic weak president, like Joe Biden, who allowed us to get into this hellscape that we're living in, where we allowed these foreign terrorists to dominate the western United States." 🥴
Horn player, vibraphonist, and multitrack recording pioneer Don Elliott was born on this day 100 years ago today in 1926. Here he is playing the mellophone* on his recording of "Deep Purple" from 1955:
*Had to look up what a mellophone was, as that's not an instrument I was familiar with. From Wiki: The mellophone is a brass instrument used in some marching bands in place of French horns. It is a middle-voiced instrument, typically pitched in the key of F, though models in E♭, D, C, and G (as a bugle) have also historically existed. It has a conical bore and piston valves, like those of the euphonium and flugelhorn.
These instruments are used instead of French horns for marching because their bells face forward instead of to the back (or to the side), as dissipation of the sound becomes a concern in the open-air environment of marching.
Remember... Metastasized has off book AI data center debt totalling almost 1/2 a trillion. The interest payments are going to put a serious dent into their cash flow. They're soon going to need those billions sooner than later.
This is the second judgement against Meta. The first declared the "feed" as a product and harmful. I'm sure there are a lot of firms lining up to get a piece of this.
Some assholes who named their fake polling company Wedgewood Polling, were caught faking their data. They tried to pre-empt that revelation by declaring that they had been “experimenting.” Their fake numbers affected campaigns, including Mallory McMorrow’s run for the senate. After Wedgewood fraudulently announced that her numbers had fallen into single digits, contributions dried up, reporters kept hounding her about quitting, and morale collapsed among her campaign volunteers. She ended the campaign soon afterwards.
Today, Donald Trump endorsed Republican Lisa Demuth for Minnesota governor and Republican Ron Schutz for Minnesota attorney general. In a post on X, Trump encouraged Minnesotans to vote for Republican candidates up and down the ballot.
Wife wanted to go with me to a county park that has redwoods - we've been there before. There is good birding there, including common sightings of Pileated Woodpecker. But .. something came up, and she bailed, so we'll go another day. I went instead to an open space preserve up in the hills above the city. I had been there before. The best birding was actually in the parking lot. Just before arriving at the gate, I saw a Northern Harrier skimming by. Then, there was a Rock Wren hopping around in the actual parking lot. As the name implies, they like rocky habitats, and are often hard to see, since they're foraging somewhere in a rock pile. But this guy was right in front of me, and not shy. Great views, and I got photos. There were also numerous Horned Larks visible from the parking lot. These are rather handsome birds, with yellow around their forehead and neck. They have little black protuberances on their head that look like horns, but these can be quite small or even not visible on some birds. They like higher-altitude chaparral habitats. Plus there was a Savannah Sparrow near the lot, Mourning Doves, and whole bunch of Brewer's Blackbirds. Then I actually did the hiking trail, and picked up a few more species. I heard Yellow-billed Magpies, but they were way down in a gully among some trees, and I didn't manage to get eyes on them.
Tennessee Brando put it best imo that "No matter where you start in MAGA, if you start tracing it back, you'll land right at a predator or pedophile's door every time. If you start tracing back guitar playing, it don't matter if you start with metal...or...country, you start with rock, you'll wind up at the door of the Delta Blues. It will always go back to Robert Johnson every time."

"LEWISTON, Maine (AP) — Maine Republican Susan Collins has promoted her reputation as one of the most independent U.S. senators and she is using the waning days of the election season to sell that message to voters by campaigning with a former Democratic colleague who has endorsed her.
Collins is trying to fend off a challenge from Democrat Troy Jackson, a onetime state Senate president, and on Wednesday she made appearances with Joe Manchin, a West Virginian who became an independent late in his career before retiring.
After stopping for breakfast at Simones’ Hot Dog Stand in Lewiston, Collins spoke of how she and Manchin were “part of every piece of bipartisan legislation that passed and became law” during their time together in office.
Manchin said to lose Collins would be “to lose the soul of the Senate.” He praised her independent streak, her willingness to buck Republican President Donald Trump and her record of fighting for Maine’s interests.
Also too. Is she concerned? Not doubling down like Vivek?
"LEWISTON, Maine (AP) — Maine Republican Senator Susan Collins distanced herself from a new ad attacking Democratic opponent Troy Jackson as a “freak” and a “creep” because “he has two kids with his cousin,” saying Wednesday that it should be taken down.
The spot, airing on Maine radio in the form of a country song, is from the Senate Leadership Fund, a super PAC aligned with Senate Republicans. Among the lyrics in the jingle: “If he’ll screw his own family, he’ll screw yours too.”
Collins told reporters during a campaign appearance in Lewiston that she “had nothing to do with that ad.” She added that federal law bans her from coordinating with the super PAC, but she has publicly called for it to be removed.
Previously, in a Politico story in September, Collins referenced Jackson’s relationship with a second cousin."

I think we’ve fined them a few times. Our ACCC has no fucks when it comes to filing against zuckerborg.

The company what they were paid to do. This smells like a Bannon or Roger Stone idea.

Ahhh, and I just voted against both of them today!
Was there any followup comment from the doomed candidates?
Yes ... they have indicated where they want the flowers sent after their political demise.
Lisa continued to pretend she loves abortion, Ron went on about Satanic fraud.

Someone needs to ask AI if it's true because I'm sure it will agree.
There are hundreds of other questions the right wouldn't like the answers to if you were to ask it.

At the airport now about to head off to Madrid for ESMO, the big European cancer meeting.
Are they meeting about the cancer in the white house?
If it's in Madrid they'd better not be starting the sessions before noon.
I love Madrid. Almost as much as Barcelona.
We went to Madrid during a break in Covid. My husband and I had the biggest fight we’ve ever had while we were there.

Fuck Manchin, Sinema and FetterMANCHIN!
Well, it is concerning...
Kick Back Suze had a catamaran sized graft problem too.
Is The Concerned One campaigning on how those disgraceful SCOTUS nominees bullshitted her into voting for them?
She then authorized a $20 billion donation to Manchin's yacht club.
Whar Sinema!
She may be preparing a petition for a name change.
*eyeroll* To whatever extent Manchin shat on the fence for political power, one thing he's never been is inspiring.
Say it ain't so, Joe. Didn't you actually mean that Susie was the "sole" of the Senate. I mean you can't get lower than her.
You big dummy! 🤡

Trump: We were in the midst of negotiating and a lot of stupid people said why aren’t you putting Russian sanctions—
Collins: But you said you didn’t give anything for his release
Trump: If I didn’t do that, you wouldn’t have him coming back.
Collins: So you did give something.
Trump: You don’t know anything. You’re fake news CNN.
Collins: You’re saying you lifted the sanctions in exchange for his release?
