Of all the weird, supremely insane Japanese anime, Neon Genesis Evangelion may well be the peak in both weirdness and sheer insanity. A plot by some highly-placed Japanese industrialists and scientists to "save" the human race by somehow merging each individual consciousness into one immense hypermind, using as its instruments to herd us together a series of deadly mechanical kaiju (called "angels"), all in order to rid us of the burden of our separate, ultimately lonely condition? The opposing force, of course, is drawn from the high schools of Japan, the center of the world as far as anime are concerned. Lots of cute underage girls in skintight outfits, with boatloads of thinly-veiled sexual anxiety amid the robot-monsters. The redhead pictured, i think, is one of the few fully mature women depicted in the series, so why she has what appears to be an on-off switch below each breast is just another mystery of the male Japanese cartoonists' libidos to be contemplated.
Doctor gives disingenuous timeline of federal health messaging and then whines that the vaccine mandate will make the anti-vaxxers dig in their heels. Apparently they ignored the last year where the anti-mask/vaxx brigade were resisting every kind of healthcare measure from the get go? Messaging hasn't always been great but he makes it sound like they went from "Vaccinated individuals can go maskless" to "Mask back up it's delta!" in a matter of days. Also doesn't mention that the reason delta spread so widely was because anti-vaxxers freeloaded on the lifting of mask mandates for the vaccinated.
Also they keep pushing 'natural immunity' while kinda just ignoring that natural immunity is plan "Fuck it. Whoever dies, dies."
Deeply troubling and I'm guessing their colleagues in overburdened hospitals down south would probably be pretty pissed at them saying this shit to their audience of nearly half a million.
