More evidence (as if it were needed) that the most important thing in the universe for congresscritters is keeping their own jobs. That's why they won't get rid of the corrupt special interest money that fouls our elections--they're the ones getting the money. And they serve their rich 'constituents' well 'cause they want more of that money. Occasionally they also have to lie to the voters, including totally contradicting previous statement. Lying doesn't cost them a cent.
I am an optimist. I see it as the dam beginning to leak, if not starting to break. Republicans in office are tired of Trump, they can read polls as well as anybody, the know the fat felon is toxic. Once his power over them fades, they will drop him like a bad habit.
My guess is, if the blue wave is big enough, they will gleefully vote to impeach and convict in the Senate.
But they won't drop their corruption and bad behavior. They just want have trumpy as their lead dog anymore, but they'll find another. Most of them will try to become that other.
