Okay so we here at Wonkette usually don't light our hair on fire and start throwing around words like fascism but what the fuck did we just watch, did you see that, holy shit. Donald Trump, who is still unfortunately technically the president, has just had a Cabinet meeting, on live TV. Also technically. The Cabinet was gathered, at least. I am not sure that was a meeting. That seemed more like the filming of a scene from Caligula, or possibly Who's Nailin' Paylin. By the time Betsy DeVos was finished I was taking notes on the next-level fellatory technique on display.
No snark. I am deeply embarrassed by this display of sycophancy for myself and for all other Americans. These people have demonstrated an utter lack of self-respect. I don’t know how they could look at themselves in the mirror. They’ve also deeply dis-respected the offices they hold, the people they purport to represent, and the democracy that’s promoted them to positions of power.
It’s impossible now for me—and I hope for any thinking person—to take anything any of these poltroons do or say seriously, from here on out.
And that they would kowtow to such a man—a liar, a narcissist, and a moral bankrupt—is simply beyond belief.
What was demonstrated in that cabinet meeting was the coalition of a number of deep flaws in our system of government. And while I still believe in the innate common sense of (most) of our people, and our ability to work through our problems, I’m not really very optimistic for the future of our county. ‘Nuff said.
IOW, Trump actually must actually believe that this WOULDN'T make him look like the most effed-up, insecure nut-case on the planet, with the weakest, most useless staff.
To his supporters, it doesn't. They'll seriously point to it and say, "See?! He's doing great things! All these great people say so."
Looked up Old Ebbitt's, but don't know 'bout it. Don't really want to talk here, so drop me an email at this username(at)5-cent.us, and we can figure out a time and place for a drink.
Hey, journalist, I'm so old I wrote a colum... for Philly's underground newspaper....
The weirdest thing to me is that all over the teevee you can not find one, not a single one, conservative who finds this inappropriate or even a little bit strange. The guy once said he could murder someone and not lose any votes. You have to admit, he knows his audience.
I know, right? Speaking as a Texan throughout Rick's governorship, I realized as soon as he was appointed that compared to the rest of them, he would probably cause the least damage. He actually promoted solar power. All these other guys have done is 100% destructive, so he's got that going for him.
I could be wrong, but I think I saw a tube of lip gloss hanging under the table in front of 45. I have never seen so much forelock pulling in my life. While I wasn't looking did we suddenly become a monarchy?
Yeah, he's CIC, right? Doesn't he rate six stars and a dress uni?
Yeah I got to see them at a local outdoor venue a year or two ago. <3
Nobody wants to be first to stop... so I guess they just keep clapping until he leaves.
He seemed articulate and well spoken compared to the rest of the flacks, toadies, and sycophants in the room.
Jesus, are you kidding? Have you ever, ever seen the Dems lower themselves to such a level of sycophancy?

Perfect. Now I feel better.

Trump has so many Freudian complexes, it's difficult to count them all.

Not only that, he expects your loyalty and your fealty.
