You are probably so excited about this post, because the mere idea of ANY person, place or thing punching Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal in the nuts -- metaphorically , of course -- brings unfettered joy into the hearts of all patriotic Americans. Last month, Jindal was reeling from the fact that the Louisiana legislature wasn't willing to heap embarrassment upon the state, by passing a fake "religious freedom" law, similar to the Fuck The Gays laws that passed,
When IBM affirms human decency, I almost feel better about dealing with the incomprehensible kludges known as "WebSphere" and "Tivoli" (both IBM products). Almost. Here's a free clue, Governor Jindal. IBM is a multi-national big motherfucking deal. Louisiana is a backwater with a very attractive destination known as New Orleans. IBM does business in Louisiana because there's nothing like a stroll on Bourbon Street for attitude adjustment and to keep your talented people in the zone. I say this because I realize you are incapable of doing the right thing, or even knowing what the right thing is. So this is a play to your craven self-interest. You want that sweet, sweet IBM money, you play ball. And fuck this shit about "you don't have to like it". Bite the pillow and take it like a man.
Once again, I have to remind people that Rhodes Scholar != MacArthur (Genius) Grant. To get a Rhodes, you certainly have to have a very good academic record, but the key is your extracurricular hook -- athletics, art, performance, and often politics. And the academics, such as they are, are undergraduate, by definition.
There are some extremely bright people who were Rhodies, but it is far from a guarantee.
When I worked for Fairchild, it was weird, because in San Jose there was the IBM enclave down in Almaden, but the wafer fab I was working with was the former IBM plant in East Fishkill, so half the time I was around that IBM enclave. Wherever I went, IBM, and they were doing better than I was.
If you can find it, that is. I think the Koch brothers have it in their vault.
Re: the pic: Geez, I didn't know our (least) favorite governor did Michael Jackson cosplay on the side.
Wasn't that the motto of "Girls Gone Wild: Mardi Gras Edition"
Might as well. It's way the hell nicer now than it was in 1755, and it HAS to be better than Louisiana.

Obligatory FFS.
Surprised me with this one, did not see it coming. Well done.
Many of us became men in back alleys; a few fortunate ones in the French Quarter.
In Ohio, we have Rio Grande (Rie-Oh Grand).
