The most enraging thing about all of this is that IF we manage to wrest control from the fascist bigot scum, there's going to be a whole mess of "centrist" assholes that are going to push for a "let's all just get back to normal, forgive/forget, embrace thy neighbor" blah blah blah.

Fuck. That. They have to pay. And some of the coward centrists have to pay, too - collaborators are collaborators.

"Going back to normal, let's just move forward" was probably the biggest mistake of the Biden administration.

Accountability — REAL accountability — for Jan 6th and all of the other crimes needed to start on Day 1 and with a vengeance. And they needed to go after the people at the top, not just the foot soldiers who actually stormed the Capitol.

At the Killing Fields Memorial near Phnom Penh an exhibit describes how the Pol Pot regime turned innocent young people into "odious executioners"

I'm confused...? I thought Lori Lightfoot was the actor from all the Hallmark Movies who got in trouble bribing people to get her kid into a good college??

FWIW... I'm pretty sure "Midway Blitz" is a football reference and not a WWII reference.

Midway = area of Chicago around Midway Airport

Chicago Bears = known as Monsters of the Midway

Blitz = bringing additional pass rushers to take down a Quarterback

Never assume the unwar reference with these Asshats. Remember when the Germans blitzed Pearl Bailey?

"rushing deportees to foreign prisons as fast as possible to get them beyond the reach of judges, down to telling its masked agents that they have a “constitutional exception” letting them detain US citizens for bullshit reasons, and to gas protestors, journalists, priests, local EMS and law enforcement"

* The current regime has never been honest with Americans in its actions against brown skinned people who have a furrin accent. Let's not forget the very first bit of bovine scat when a judge ordered a plane full of exportees to be returned to the US and the response was that since the flight was over international waters POTUS had no authority to order the return. (Isn't it interesting that the Fulvous Fuckwad will cite non-existent laws to justify his actions but refuses to obey real laws that hamper his ability to fulfill his wet dreams?)

* The ICEholes must have been absent from school when the Constitution, and any exceptions, was being covered. The Executive has no authority to issue exceptions to the Constitution even though the SCOTUS has ruled that there are a few ***limited*** exceptions, ie within the 13A:

> "The Court has held that some forms of involuntary service do not violate the Thirteenth Amendment because they implicate public duties that a citizen owes to his government. These duties include compelled military service in a war that Congress has declared; mandatory road work required under state law; and, likely, jury service." [footnote numbers deleted] https://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution-conan/amendment-13/historical-exceptions

(I can find no rulings on the ability to hold citizens for protesting outside a federal building or making a video of the ICEholes' illegal actions.)

* It is more than just "the authorities" using legal chemical weapons (pepper balls and tear gas for example) illegally, but some seem to be intentionally aiming directly at protesters:

> "For the second time in six weeks, a pastor was struck in the head with a pepper round fired by a U.S. immigration agent as faith leaders protested the Trump [sic] administration’s deportation efforts.

[...]

Federal law enforcement vehicles arrived at the bridge after 7 a.m., and immigration agents began pushing their cars through and fired what were reported to be stun grenades into the crowd. Soon after, Bautista was struck in the face with a pepper round." https://religionnews.com/2025/10/24/at-bay-area-protest-a-second-pastor-is-shot-by-federal-agents-with-a-pepper-round/

--and--

> "A viral photo of an ICE agent at the site pepper spraying a pastor in the face has come to exemplify the aggressive and violent tactics federal officers are using to corral the demonstrations.

The Rev. Quincy Worthington was there the night his friend, the Rev. David Black, was shot in the back of the head with a pepper bullet and pepper-sprayed in the face" https://www.vox.com/policy/465969/ice-protests-chicago-broadview-pastor-pepper-spray

[NB: the actions were at two distant locations, the first in the San Francisco Bay area and the second outside Chicago so it seems it isn't the act of a single rogue agent.]

I guess the convicted felon's lolyers called him up to ask how many agents he wanted to say were in Portland. Either that or the concept of objective, actual truth is anathema to fascists.

> No matter what the regime claims, though, Gregory Bovino, Pam Bondi et al. cannot rewrite the law. At least not until the Supreme Court’s six conservative ghouls leap in from their shadow docket to do that!

Point of order: The shadow docket doesn't re-write the law, it simply lets ICE continue to break the law, until SCOTUS gets around to re-writing the law.
