Right, CA, which has a booming economy and a billion-dollar surplus, the state with the 6th largest economy in the world (ranked against other countries, not states; and incidentally, quite a bit larger than Russia's), a wonderful climate, world-class universities, symphonies, sports franchises, gorgeous beaches, the excitement and glamour of Hollywood, the place that millions and millions of people come to as tourists every day of every year, the place with hundreds of different cultures and cuisines and people of the world, bursting with life and vivid with eager, hardworking, exciting people and businesses, the place where we make the entire world's entertainment and internet content, wine country, ski country, not to mention where we grow the country's produce--yeah, it's "the worst quality of life."
Tell that to the millions of people who keep moving here. We could use a little less traffic in Los Angeles. Most of your friends who work in the Bay Area are there BECAUSE THEY LOVE THE BAY AREA. They could easily live in Iowa for much less cost, but THEY LOVE THE BAY AREA. Because the Bay Area is fantastic.
Same for people who work in Los Angeles, or Santa Barbara, or who live in Big Sur or Monterey or Mendocino or gold country or La Jolla or Julian or Big Bear or any of the myriad truly wonderful parts of this beautiful state. Stop repeating asshole, deliberately false Russian/right-wing talking points.
My friends who are doctors and lawyers in California cant even afford to buy a first home....my friends who work in San Fran and Palo Alto have to commute two to three hours to work each way from San Jose....the pollution is getting much worse over time.....the fact the economy is booming is tied to the fact it is so overcrowded!!!!
were your friends born there in san fran or palo alto? maybe they came here for the terrible quality of life we have. I agree we need to put strict controls on immigration, and seeing how most of the immigrants that are making california so damn crowded are from the rest of america, we need to build a wall around california to keep all the iowans and floridians out. the mexicans are nice enough to come pick all your fruits and vegetables for you and then most of them go home, the one's that don't take care of your kids and your lawn and don't even complain that they get treated like a red headed step child by all these damn white people who came here from Iowa to make millions in Saint Francis and High Stick. the reason why all the houses in San Francisco cost millions is because it's the kind of place where super hard working super smart people from all over the world can come and become millionaires. - a proud californian who was born and raised in colorado
