Catching up, this was the first story I read today, and it has me welling up with anger (I cry when I'm angry). It's the first story to do that; my psych meds usually keep me on a pretty even keel. Just that picture makes me want to throw my computer out the window. Those guys think they're really hot shit, and nobody's telling them otherwise.
Unfortunately, those visas are generally only available to people who've been trafficked into sex work (or sweatshops), not migrants who've paid to be smuggled into the US. And yes, Sessions and crew have made them harder to get. Pretty sure U-visas can also be granted to people who help with a criminal investigation, but in this particular case, the report says Maria Garcia-Mata didn't do a formal deal in order to testify against the smuggler -- she just volunteered to do the right thing. and in any case, no testimony needed -- he took a plea deal and was out after 30 days. He's back in prison on drug charges now.
See, if this spreads to drug enforcement we'll be seeing people bashing hard on drugs, but letting the nice smuggler people go! And really, what's wrong with that?
Damn, and I did't even get to use my vast collection of Fuck Off macros.

From this post I sense I may have missed something yesterday.
AOT, K?
They've been making a LOT of sacrifices. Mostly human sacrifices.
Here you go. The kid is still going through hearings, case has been delayed until November. https://features.propublica...

Trump didn't write that.
You better be fascinated when that man is capable of things like this: https://www.youtube.com/wat...

It's like the Republicans aren't sincere when they demonize MS-13.
How many addicts are currently behind bars?
Casablanca is one of my all time favorite movies. Conrad Veidt (Major Strasser) and his family escaped from Nazi Germany. He hated Nazis!
So you're done on August 40th?

Obviously ICE recognizes kindred spirits in the coyotes and sees no reason to punish someone who is only try to make a living.
