For a guy who claims to be the hugestStar Trekfan in this galaxy or any other, Oregon state Rep. Bill Post is kind of a moron. After we learned last week of the death of Leonard Nimoy (not a Republican), who played the beloved (but, ahem, fictional) character of Mr. Spock (also not a Republican), Post took to the floor of the Legislature to pay tribute to an actor-slash-fictional-character who was, apparently, a better Republican than even Abraham Lincoln, St. Ronald Reagan, or

As to why I got banned. Remember when I made a nuisance of myself by calling the Editrix to task because she mentioned she liked it when guys catcalled her and didn't think the infamous "Woman walks through New York and gets harassed" video was all that bad?
It was that kind of thing.
Also I was always linking to Wonkette and people didn't like the snarky way they insult Republicans here, and people were complaining that I was snarking off to them.
But the final nail is when I said to some guy "I regret to inform you that your penis does not put you at any social disadvantage"
A peanut allergy can be life-threatening in a child. Seems awful risky to get kids with peanut sensitivities to be downing peanuts in the hopes that they won't develop a full-blown allergy. I'd like to see this study duplicated a few times.
The Star Trek Future is a fictional "Socialistic Utopia". When Spock says "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few", he was repeating a principle of that fictional society. A principle that today's Republicans would REJECT out of hand.
I know that righties love to appropriate the work of others as their own . . . but to suggest that Spock, or ANY of the leaders of the Star Trek Universe, are similar to today's Republicans is, well, exactly the sort of counter-factual nonsense that we've all come to expect from the pathological liars of today's right.
But the study suggests (ok no it doesn't, this is my irresponsible, ignorant supposition) that maybe parents are so paranoid about peanut allergies that they are just totally avoiding them (sorta like vaccinations) and causing the allergies in a totally ironic kinda way.
So Spock is an anchor baby?
Klingons are Republicans.
Klingons vaporize public employee unions.
E plebnista!
Since one of my hobbies is astronomy, people often assume I'm a Trekkie. I watched the original series as a kid, but not much after that.

Republicans are like a stupid subspecies of Ferengi.
They're Ferengi when they're out of office, Klingons when they're in office.
it's too bad republicans and teabaggers don't act like Vulcans or have those values of logic and respect for science.
my personal favorite.

No, no, let them claim him. Maybe they will believe in science again.
Easy: be a Republican.Or was the question rhetorical?
Not quite it.We'll work on it some more next week, when we do primary colors.
