This infuriates me. These people are the ones that will cause deaths because they don't give a shit. They already have. Killing people for sport. Maybe it's because it's personal for me, but really it's because I am capable of hating these ghouls. My healthcare provider has added a wellness group. Yes they send emails demanding that I sign up for stupid shit. When I told my doc to stop it, he said he can't. His explanation was " it's fashionable".

One of my very best friends for over 40 years dated Jim Fixx in high school. He found her again later in life and swept her off her feet. It was so tragic when he died...

“Americans are dying younger, from largely preventable disease and bad health policy decisions."

And yet the good Doctor is going to work in HHS; run by an individual who thinks herd immunity is better than vaccines, stops a family road trip to cut of the penis of roadkill for "study," and consumes raw milk that is anything but fresh*. She's going to work with a bunch of shitheads who think "gold standard science" is when research agrees with their beliefs and that sound, solid research is a waste of time. An agency with a snake oil huckster running CMS and an anti-vaxxer deciding on vaccine schedules. A department that insists that fatty red meats are the healthiest form of protein. IOW, a gubmint agency that thrives on bad health policies.

(* Anecdotally, I spent one summer during my college years renting a room in the farmhouse of a working dairy farm. While living there I had access to the barn's dairy storage tank, and believe me when I say that the milk was the best I ever drank... and I could control the amount of cream since it filters out and rises to the top. Plus, unlike the raw milk endorsed by Bobbie Brainworm it was as fresh as can be; the local dairy cooperative collected what was in the tank daily.)

"Does she think everyone would be healthier if they didn’t see doctors"

Yes, she does, and in one way she isn't wrong. Only the sick and elderly need to see doctors and once the MAGA eugenics policies are in place this demographic will shrink in relation to the entire population. The US will be healthier for that.

“And the reason that insurance has gotten so expensive is because under these ACA plans, they require coverage for so many things."

Riiiiight, the skyrocketing insurance costs have nothing to do with concerns about the corporate bottom line and demands for a substantial ROI by the stakeholders; it's all due to the requirement to supply blanket coverage.

"the evidence that vaccines cause autism is “inconclusive.”"

So is the evidence that old age leads to death, or that a stage 4 cancer is a causation (and not a correlation) of dying.

As far as Caribbean medical schools go The Ric Ross School of Medicine in Barbados is one of the five or sixth best. Loses some points for distance to the beach and that whole thing with the stolen cadavers a few years back but otherwise passable.

Me understand Suprem Court declares Donald Trump Tariffs Unlegal and now Trump puts 25% Tariff on all EU Cars. Is Court not Suprem?

Good question. We better appeal this to the Supreme Court!

Trump gets a stark message as vandal goes after his pet project

President Donald Trump's plan for the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool was temporarily derailed after vandals painted a message that the Department of Justice considers a threat.

"Around 7:20 a.m. this morning, the U.S. Park Police was notified by the National Park Service of approximately 15-by-30-foot '8647' graffiti spray-painted in the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool," a spokesperson for the U.S. Park Police told The Washington Examiner on Friday.

"An active investigation is underway, and those responsible will be identified and held fully accountable," the spokesperson added.

Red state gov immediately sued after suspending primary elections

The U.S. House elections this week are canceled. But all the other contests on the May 16 ballot will continue as scheduled, including those for U.S. Senate, Louisiana Supreme Court, Public Service Commission, Board of Elementary and Secondary Education and five constitutional amendments.

Secretary of State Nancy Landry has said that the U.S. House races will remain on voters’ ballots in May, but any votes cast in those races will not be counted.

Democrats have already started filing legal challenges to the governor’s decision that aim to put the House elections back on their previous schedule.

Lindsay Garcia, a Democratic candidate in the 5th Congressional District, filed a lawsuit Thursday in the U.S. Middle District Court of Louisiana asking for an emergency order blocking Landry’s election suspension.

Black plaintiffs from the 2022 congressional redistricting lawsuit Robinson v. Ardoin have also asked the U.S. Supreme Court to wait to issue its certified judgment until after the 2026 midterms and allow the current map be used during this cycle. This typically happens about a month after the opinion is released.

Landry’s order pushes the primary elections to July 15 unless the Legislature determines a new date.
