I read once, and am too lazy to look up again, that "Meatless Thursdays" promoted as a civilian contribution to the WW2 effort were in fact intended to only be 'beefless Thursdays."
So much of modern Republican behaviour is based on "owning the libs", no matter how stupid or self-destructive the behaviour that does that is. They gloat then that the libs took the bait.
What I like, though, is that Republicans are absolutely going to melt down over this, and yet none of them will consider that they have been owned.
As a musician I loved St. Patty's gigs, always paid well. Crowds tended to be much drunker than any other holiday including NYE. It was fun to watch the madness from a barricaded stage.
Let's just say that in my family when someone is getting into some dangerous drug or alcohol dependency or demonstrates suicidal ideation, I am the one who is called to "fix" it.
But when I attempt to tell them that THEY are the ones enabling that behaviour I am either castigated or ignored.
And looks great in green.
