Well, to be fair, some of them are homeschooling their kids. That way they can be molested in the privacy of their own homes. My mother-in-law, for example, wanted hubs and I to move to Wisconsin and pull the Lil' Carrot out of the evil, Socialist, unionized city school so that she and her Paul Nehlen-voting, Klavern-dwelling Grand Cyclops husband could "babysit" her.

Absolutely. Too bad we don't have universal healthcare so everyone could get the help they need.

This generation gives me hope. They may well fix things, if the rest of us don't get them killed with our greed and stupidity.

I've seen this argument before. It's just like the one where if women don't want to run into men in the ladies room then they should just never go out. Makes about as much sense too.

Oooohh - YEESH! What could *possibly* go wrong with that plan? (shudders)

That's a damn fact! It's almost as though you can't trust people who spend so very much of their time thinking and worrying about everyone else's genitals and where they might be putting them.

far be it from me to doubt this lady's claims of abuse (and I'm not doubting her, let me make that clear), but the whole 'it happened to me, and that makes me an expert, and i can now say anything without being fact checked because that makes you a monster' is a really dangerous precedent that they are laying here - especially when it comes to an abuse victim. they are simultaneously insulating themselves from having to present real facts and discrediting other abuse survivors

My wife doesn't follow these very-online culture-war bullshit trends and movements, but we're both middle-school special-education teachers, so I felt the need to sit down with her last night and explain (mansplain?) that she'll probably be hearing people debating whether teachers are pedophiles and/or "groomers" pretty soon. It's not easy to explain how these things developed to someone who doesn't follow them; it's like "OK, you know how you see people with stickers on their truck windows that show a stick figure kneeling with its hands behind its back, and the other stick figure is standing behind the kneeling one with a gun to its head, and it says "SHOOT YOUR LOCAL PEDOPHILE" in a circle? No? OK, remember when the guy next door got really into QAnon? Well..."

Some of them think that, but talk to a few and you'll be accused of literal sexual abuse of children pretty quickly. It's right there.
