On local news last night they showed Nurses getting termed from their jobs for not getting the vaccine and then showed new nurses graduating that very day. They interviewed one of the new grads and the gist of the answer was "Thanks for the new job dumbasses"
Not only that, but virtually all healthcare providers that they could apply to are going to have the same mandate. So basically, they flushed their career down the drain, and are likely to end up back where they were as a patient.
Find another job? I understand that many employers are starting to require it, and the pay won't be anywhere close to what they were making, assuming they can find a job.
I have alot of allergies and I wanted to ask my doctor about it before I got vaxxed. However, my job had several Q&A sessions with medical professionals and I was able to get in a question there and she told us that if we have allergies let the staff at the vaccination site know. I spoke to the stall when I wen in and all I needed to do was stay for 1/2 hour rather than the 15 minutes that everyone else had to wait. I got my vaccine at a medical complex and the hospital was directly across the street so I was good. I didn't have a reaction either time thankfully.
From what I understand, many of the personnel refusing aren't the highly-educated nurses, but rather the CNAs and others that may not have that solid educational background.
I work in a FQHC in The South Bronx. I made it my mission to get my HIV positive clients vaccinated. It worked. Our entire network has a vaccine mandate for all employees, interns, contractors, and volunteers. I’m glad.
But when Trumpers throw a fit when a nurse tells them they need to wear a mask in the hospital and screams at the doctor that COVID is a hoax even as they're dying from it, that's supporting the healthcare workers?

She doesn't have to lie, but it is one of the most joyous things in her life.
