Yes, as much as I personally, have an aversion to organized religion, I would go hear Rev. Barber speak in a venue. He is inspiring and a highly gifted orator.
Despite all the work our mothers did to gain us a legal ‘right to abortion’, I have a seriously bad taste in my mouth even saying those words. It’s not a granted right and framing it as such while thinking that it’s a tactical win to gain that permission... it just misses the point utterly.
Deciding whether and when to bring a new life into the world is a huge responsibility. Those who have deliberately isolated themselves from the consequences of living with the laws they make about it shouldn't be the ones who get to decide.
