I'm going semi-off-topic here.

I have one father in assisted living and one in a personal care home (higher level of service but not a nursing home.) I have gone by both a few times last week and neither is capable of operating a TV remote any more. I set both their TVs to a 'safe' channel - NFL for stepfather and nature channel for father - and asked them not to touch anything but the on-off button going forward.

No More 24/7 news for them. No more Nancy Mace or any of her peers. No more hyper-inflated political coverage or wars or mass shootings or disasters.

Nancy Mace's "media strategy" is a symptom of not just MAGA's sick culture, but our overall sick culture.

I give it two years. All of this overexposure is going to blow up in her face. Anyone who wraps themselves in the MAGA flag and isn’t Trump, they get burned. Mace bragging about her sex life is a big red flag and the biggest thirst trap if ever there was one.

Dark Days. My prediction for late 2024 and 2025.

As a result of the elections, Trump will either win Electoral College or at least one State government will be seized by violent means. Either way, the presidential election will be in turmoil, or Trump will become the next president. As a result, by February 2025, Australia will join the nuclear powers to fill the US role in the West Pacific to deter China and protect Taiwan. South Korea will follow by summer and because of treaties, Germany will have to wait until Trump withdraws us from NATO. Japan will announce right after Germany.

Russia and China will ally. Trump will call his buddy Vlad.

I'm *slightly* more optimistic than you. I like to think the USA is going to reelect Biden, and then, in 2028 or later, after PAB is a drooling vegetable somewhere, the voters are going to forget about his attempted coup and will put a MAGA-style Republican -- or whatever they're calling themselves by then -- back in the White House. And they'll just run the Heritage Foundation's 2025 playbook and seize power permanently, much like they've more-or-less done in several states (like my own).

Now that it's been reported Mace was almost publicly bragging about her sex life, I feel like I can safely ask: did anyone else think that scarlet letter stunt with the t-shirt was really about shaming McCarthy? I thought it was pretty obvious she was showing off her cleavage.

Showing off her cleavage and running for VP, one and the same thing.

I don't understand how a show that features Jordan Klepper and Desi Lydic can just uncritically showcase views from Nancy freaking Mace. Is "The Daily Show" now AFRAID of MAGA?

If )))shudder((( I was a Mace staffer, I would suggest she bite the head off a live chicken on Hannity. That's about where The Base is at.

Well they have to platform these drips because otherwise there'll be more whining. And the network owners like to have a platform for them too! Helps them to get those tasty tasty tax cuts!

First of all, Comedy Central now goes through MTV Entertainment. For those who never watch the very NON-music MTV network, it is mostly just utter fucking crap mosly having to do with the most vile men and women getting together to have sex (things that make the broadcast versions look like a walk in the park),

For the rest of today (11th) the only two shows they have on are ''Catfish: The TV Show'' and "Help! I'm in a Secret Relationship" All they are is about is pushing what I would call very sex-negative shows (disguised at sex-positive) and similar things that MAGAt men love.

And then there is "Ridiculousness" with ''MTV mascot Rob Dyrdek and friends Sterling Brim and Chanel West Coast'', a show that is like ''America's Home Videos" for people who only want to see guys kicked in the nuts (and hard), and women somehow losing their tops. Again, prime MAGAman fare. They must be on some Xmas break cause the show is noramlly on more that any other show on MTV. For proof, look at the schedule on a story from The AV Club from 2021 (link below). In that grapic 76 PERCENT of the MYV scdhule is, well ridiculous...

Things have been getting worse on Comedy Central since Paramount shoved it into the MTV division. Because TDS is one of the few NEW good shows being made, it is most obvious there.

Note also, that Roy Wood, Jr., one of the best correspondents has not been on a lot. Is MTV grooming Charlamagne the God to take his place?

Also, a shout out to Ronny Chieng, slayer of Jesse Waters, one of the best TDS people.

"Mace’s former chief of staff Hanlon took the office popcorn maker with him when he left. He must really like popcorn."

This immediately brought to mind Steve Martin in The Jerk. "This is all I need..."

Okay...about the popcorn machine....I was given as a wedding present a beautiful and elaborate coffee machine, that ground beans, made espresso, and steamed milk. I had NO ROOM in my kitchen for it, so, I took it into my workplace, so that everyone could enjoy it. I was let go the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, with 20 others, and took my coffee machine with me.

A week later, the HR manager said I took the machine without permission, and was advised I'd have to return the machine to receive my final paycheck. I reminded her it was mine, she knew it, the owner knew it, and everyone still working there knew it.

Eventually, I had to sue them to get my final check. I calculated a monthly rental fee for the machine as part of the damages I sought (20 months @ $50.00/mo), and won by default (either they forgot to show up, or didn't feel like defending it).

When I hear about the popcorn machine, I'm reminded of my coffee machine, and assume it was his all along, and shared it with the office to be a good guy.
