On the "other side", I mentioned in an earlier OT thread that the alt right types have been getting worked up over a "no arrest" policy, even though they don't seem to be able to find any such a policy in effect or define how it would or could work. Every time they cited an actual law, it's a California law that lowered the threshold between felony and misdemeanor theft. Curiously, even they do not dispute that the misdemeanor offenders are still to be arrested or detained by police in some fashion.

Or sometimes (often), fix it not at all and ignore the problem and pretend the symptoms don't exist. In the best tradition of our puritan roots.

Charity ,mercy,and grace are all apart of Islam. They are also supposed to be Christian values as well. She at least is practicing the tenents of her faith. And I respect that. I also believe justice that is purely punitive is not really justice.
