I've always believed the Republican elected officials who know Trump is unbelievably unfit for office and active threat to our national security but support him anyway are worse. Trump is who he is—a severely damaged human being without two brain cells to rub together—but he wouldn't have been able to do any of the horrible shit he's done without the backing of the GOP.
Considering the mood of the American electorate, I think it's safe to assume that 77 million Americans actually gave the President 154 million middle fingers.
I have always though McConnell was worse than Trump.
