The FEMA coffin would be a smart place to hide, no?

If things go so completely to shit that an angry hungry mob of "urban warfare gangsters" (wearing black berets, no doubt) is pounding on your door, the likelihood that you or your family will live happily ever after is pretty much zero -- and no $39.95 "response" is gonna fix things.

I figured our 'Trix was just being lazy: Why go scouring the intertubez for examples of wingtard idiocy, when they'll gladly send it to you themselves?

I don't know how old you are, but my kids are 21 and 23, and I have certainly mentioned to them that when I was around their ages the education system didn't suck. Of course, I went to college in 1965-69, and it didn't suck.

I'm not sure I get your point. I'm well aware that the reason both K-12 and post-secondary education has gradually gone in the crapper is that we (that is, a majority of my fellow Boomers as well as continuing majorities of Xs and Ys) have cheaped out and refused to pay for a decent educational system.

I don't even blame Ronbo too much for this one. Yes, he was the head cheerleader for Team Greed Is Good, but education is funded at the state or local level, and it took millions of short-sighted folks to create today's disaster.

Re: cost of college. Also, demand. When I was a kid, a "blue-collar" career was still a perfectly acceptable life choice. In fact, well into my adulthood, many of my blue-collar (that is, no-college-degree) friends were making better money than many of my graduated friends. But it was true that the folks with degrees would, on average over a lifetime, out-earn those without. And so, it became a commonplace that everybody should get a college degree. And "college" became a fucking growth industry.

This is really what fucked up college. Reagan contributed, as he did to almost everything bad for society, with his "Let the free market soooaaarr" bullshit, but a couple of generations of parents also contributed by failing to recognize that a successful, prosperous, vigorous society really needs more plumbers than physicists* or visual arts majors**.

Notes: * ** This is an example, not a slam at physicists*** or visual artists. If you really, fucking truly, want to be a physicist or a visual artist, you should do this; and if a college degree is an important step on the way, you should get one. All I'm trying to suggest is that if you think it might be kind of fun to be a plumber, WE NEED LOTS OF PLUMBERS.

*** Full disclosure, my B.S, is in Physics. It wasn't that great of an idea.

Seriously, though, FEMA? I guess it's the juxtaposition of "Federal" and "Emergency" that gets 'em going.

I figure "FEMA Banned This Video" might mean that FEMA blocked it from their office computers, because they didn't want to bother to monetize the click-throughs.

Or, of course, it might mean nothing.

In any event, these guys. FEMA, my ass. When they're getting escorted onto the trains, it's gonna be an entirely different Federal agency doing the honors -- the fucking Marines.
