No bad dogs, only bad owners.

Back when excellent real estate was going ludicrously cheap in Florida due to the banks' criminal irresponsibility with granting loans and the predictable nosedive that followed, me and my partner were thinking of selling up in Australia and moving to Florida. And buying a couple of nice houses. One of the things that decided us against it was the gun murders. Another was ... well, never mind the others. We didn't do it. And now it looks as though we may, with that decision, have dodged bullets. Literally.

How about one of those guns that sends every bullet to the same location as the first?

Damned right!Next he'll suggest the U.S. government (over a score of different administrations) has NOT been selling out the human race to flesh eating lizard aliens.Just because logic and common sense indicate otherwise.Pffffft, these people.

I don't understand why insurance agencies haven't pushed for liability insurance as a requirement for gun ownership. It's a market ripe for exploitation.

Let it go to trial, and let him testify in his own defense. Can you imagine what the courtroom will be like when he swears to tell the truth?

We had one of them stabbing things in my town. Guy walked into the lobby of a downtown office building during the lunch hour, so it was full of people coming and going. He grabbed someone and stabbed them. They got away from him. He grabbed someone else and stabbed them, and they got away from him. He grabbed a third person and stabbed them, and they got away.

By this time, people have figured out what's going on and scatter beyond his reach and start calling 911. A cop pulls up outside, he goes out front and charges the cop with his knife. The cop shoots him and kills him.

Three wounded. What would it have been if he'd walked in there with a gun?

I've kind of written off the entire south as a destination spot. It just all feels too dangerous down there.

Places like Tombstone AZ, where your were supposed to turn in your firearms to the sheriff until you left town again.

Interestingly, with a question of what Florida has done right, the answers concern individuals and other entities within Florida, not Florida itself.

A sinkhole opened up on the main street in downtown and swallowed a Mercedes.

I am looking for a retirement house with a friend. She does not understand why I won't consider Florida or a bunch of other southern states. With gun laws being one side of survival and the health care craziness (Insanity being a requisite for health care office) being the other, then so many scams .... Florida will sink soon and we won't have to discuss it much into our deaths, ha.

While living in Tennessee, the one I appreciated was, "Pull the door to." We northerners would say, "Shut the door but not all the way." A lot more words.
