Instead of time-and-a-half, they'll be paid in "compensatory time off" (deferred days off, to be taken later), which they will have to formally request and obtain supervisory approval to actually be able take. So instead of mandatory days off as required by law, they'll only get to take time off with the employer's permission and at its discretion.

No, I think that the next thing will be that workers can "volunteer" to work 12 hour shifts (at straight pay).

Because, as with the seven days a week thing, they will "want to help their employers."

Actual comment from a supervisor at one of the philosoph's former employers...

(Six hours into the work shift:) "You want to take a [30 minute] lunch break? Now?? Well, since the law says so, then I guess I'll have to let you take it. But I'm sure glad that you have coworkers who care more about getting their jobs done than about taking time off."

I had about 1/3 of the day off on Thanksgiving and New Years and about half the day off on Christmas and July 4th. The rest of the time it's 8-9 hours a day. Working for an alcoholic couple who have other jobs and with the help one day a week of a 'developmentally challenged' man who has to be babysat for the most part. On the plus side I have Wonkette to vent on, 2 cats to complain to, and plenty of eggs to eat.

Once I seen Grothmans name I knew this would be classic,he is the idiot what wanted a law to lock women up iffin baby daddy left them and didnt pay child support ,cause that meant the mommies were being abusive by denying the baby a whole family cause daddy left, and expecting daddy to pay child support was nothing more than a war on men.Such a nice man if you dwell in hell or Wisconsin's republican party

"Minors 14 through 17 may be employed outside of school hours in excess of permitted weeky hours during peak periods. Time and one-half regular rate of pay must be paid after 50 hours per week. "

Wisconsin law is a step ahead of you.

40hours/7 = 5.7 hours 7 days a week without having to pay overtime.

I work 7 days a week and that brings on feelings of depression, despair, and the desire to kill. A year ago this past Christmas I got 3 days off and spent them with friends in Austin but that was it. Here on the farm holidays are just another day that eggs have to be gathered, pigs, chickens, and rabbits have to be fed and watered, and chores have to be done. For $110 a week plus an old house (unheated and unairconditioned except for a window unit I purchased) to live in and electric and water paid. Anyone who wants continual workdays 'for other people' should try working 'their' jobs 5 days a week first and then see what they think of it.

Under Wisconsin’s burdensome, possibly communist-inspired labor laws, employers are required to give workers at least 24 consecutive hours off every seven days.

Pretty sure that's in the Ten Commandments written by well-known Communist God.
