As you may have noticed, the Wingnut Noise Machine is seriously pushing the notion that President Obama deliberately sat back and did nothing when a Libyan militia attacked the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi on Sept. 11, apparently because he is either incompetent (the "charitable" view) or because he just plain hates America that much (the "reasonable doubt exists" view). It turns out that,
I'm not sure why the NYT needed to make that point. I mean, it's a fairly obvious one
20% of americans believe the president is kenyan, a quarter of us can't find our own goddamned nation on a map and 48% of us are considering voting for mitt romney.
And I think of times we were together As time went on it seemed forever But times have changed Now things are better Someone had to pay the price
Giuliani was excellent during and after 9/11. He was visible, he was organized, he communicated clearly and effectively. We knew what we could do to be helpful and what we shouldn't do. No one panicked. The bridges and tunnels were not clogged with terrified New Yorkers fleeing the city. He went to the site the next day, when Bush was cowering in a bunker in Idaho or someplace--and B didn't even speak to the nation, much less NYC, til 9/13. I loathe Giuliani, but I give him props for dropping his odious politics during the worst of the crisis. I was grateful for his good work during a very tough time for the city--and for the sense that he was loyal to the city, and thinking about New York, not just the national implications. Sometimes people do step up.
Of course, within a few weeks he was back to being repellent and horrible. Which is why when he market-tested a run for the Senate it totally fizzled. New Yorkers weren't buying it. And when he later market-tested a run for the presidency, New York responded with a resounding Fuck No.
Christie may have more staying power. And some of his actions last week may have been made with 2016 in mind. But I think it was mostly sincere, and it was very welcome to the stressed and battered people of the region.
i don't like them that much either! i mean i they're kinda fun with that head banging boppy beat and nihilistic lyrics, but as punk goes, i much prefer other bands (clash...).
but they're rather soothing for this campaign. like a ripping band-aid off a particularly nasty scar.
I agree that it is a much more important, substantive issue, which should be discussed. But this is the Squirrel! network, that usually bounds on to the next fluffy, damaging thing about Obama as fast as they can. That they can't come up with anything shows how desperate they are to avoid the reality of what's happening with the race in its final week.
Wouldn't it be awesome if they blamed the messenger? I know that many Foxheads will be in a frenzied state of disbelief when Romney loses, after months of hearing Fox say that he's winning, but I'd love it if just 10% would expand their sphere of information as a result.
I think this is a combination of the GNoP and the FoxPAC trying to Swift Boat President Obama and get back at the Democrats for making such a fuss over the coverup of the shooting of Pat Tillman.
The "Conservatives" continue to be captured in an infinite payback loop.
..."which is that Obama is a Manchuran Candidate bent on destroying America, and he just sat back and laughed while watching brave Americans die."
FAKE!!! We all know Barack HUSSEIN Obama masturbates to the thought of Americanz dying!!!
i would politely request no more zebra eating.
i am praying to my personal god fuflans.
if it doesn't work out, he at least controls the wine.

thanks again NJ!
I love you for your dedication to the Ramones. I don't even like them that much as a band, but they ARE fucking consistent.

They're with OJ Simpson.
Is that the thing Bull O'Really? ranted about when he was trying to have phone sex with that poor woman?
