Rep. Steve King (R-Red Dawn) has a new grievance against gun-registration proposals: They would ruin his family's Christmas. Speaking to the birther conspiracy site World Net Daily , King castigated Democratic proposals in the wake of the Sandy Hook school massacre.
And let's define tyrant, shall we? One man's tyrant could be another man's (or woman's) constitutionally elected head of state.
I still remember this story from 20 years ago. Xmas time, woman hears a noise downstairs, gets up, shoots in the direction of the noise. She killed her 4 year old stepson who had gone down to look at the tree in the middle of the night. Merry Christmas.
The Founders didn't want another revolution. So the built the revolution into the Constitution by holding House elections every two years.
Anyway, the gun nut like to cite an incident in Athens, Tennessee in 1948 where the local sheriff was rigging the election by having his deputies make off with some of the ballot boxes. Some WWII vets took exception, got their guns and there was a firefight at the jailhouse. The ballot boxes were liberated. Apparently no one was killed, though there was quite a riot in rest of the town while the deputies were busy with the vets.
Whether guns were necessary to straighten out the election is waaay open to question. It was a county election after all and the vets had tons of legal recourse though.
Archduke Franz Ferdinand was killed for being part of the Austrian monarchy, and therefore was seen as an oppressor of the Slavic parts of his empire.
The right to blow raccoons apart with a rapid-fire weapon.

I suppose these new laws will get in the way of the Kings family tradition of shooting down their own Xmas tree.
Too allergic to have read the fucking proposed legislation, though.
Not to mention the fat guy trying to break in through the chimney.
Something about guillotines.
I thought they supported taking action to mitigate climate change...
Although, there was this.
"...Christmas at the Kings would be outlawed unless one of us got a federal firearms license"
Christmas, Hanukkah and every other solstice celebration in twenty homes in Connecticut was cancelled by a gun last year. So fuck you King family.
FIIIIIIVE NEILISTS
Steve King, for a start.
And what does "well regulated" mean to these gun nuts?
Probably "don't tear the wrapping paper"
