Erik Prince has been begging for the work.

The Bin Laden family are Yemenis by heritage, and the Bin Laden family construction firm was long an important business partner with two generations of the Bush family in building out Saudi Arabia's infrastructure.

Oh, so all of a sudden it's important that we honor our treaties and agreements.

You’re right...I did read House of Saud. I thought he grew up in SA, though.

I think you're correct about his early life; I'm pretty sure he caught the Wahabbi/Salafist/Qutb prion disease there.

I was fully prepared to go to Canada if my number came up in the draft, but I'm beginning to think that a draft is the only thing that can save us now. The U.S. has no problem going to war when only 1% of the country have any skin in the game.

Reinstate the draft without all those exemptions the wealthy and middle class (during the Vietnam era, we don't have that anymore) used to avoid service. Little Scion just got into Harvard thanks to the new building Daddy built? Hope that slot will be there in two years when (or if) he comes back. Right now, he's got to go to Saudi Arabia and fight the good fight, and there's no way out of it.

The billionaires would shut that shit down right quick and even Iowans would go overwhelmingly for a Democrat running on a No New Wars platform.

So true. Whether one buys into the whole of Chomsky's theoretical frameworks and world view, it would be nice if people noticed how prescient he's been in practical terms regarding the GOP, etc. He came out clearly against third party voting in 2016.

No draft. Just compulsory service, period. A whole new concept of civic responsibility would emerge. We might even start asking ourselves what qualities a good leader should possess, and where our tax dollars really go.

Right? It’s not really in the Trump playbook. But it is in the Dem’s, so pointing out the legality part might be enough to make them suffer a war. And, to top it off, we would all be super owned, because Trump would be doing a legal thing, which we’ve come to pester him over for basically doing the opposite all the time. It’s so very fucked up.

Saudi Arabia didn't see the drones coming because all of their radar systems were point south,,, riiiiight. Where was the US Navy looking, or are we to believe that Iran can fly ten drones over the fifth fleet without being noticed?

The Houthis have been holding news conferences explaining the operational details. Seemed to be fairly easy for them quite frankly. The Saudis are displaying pieces of wreckage they say they found, that proves Iran did it. Pompeo blathering on about liars should be called liars was priceless. Okay, yes, Pompeo, you're a liar!

The sooner we get off oil the better, then these fundies can go get a real job. There is a technical problem with saying the Houttis did it because the target is 1000 km away and apparently these drones have a range of 700 km. Talking about misty eyes, I fondly recall the 'reason' behind 9/11 was infidel boots on the ground in KSA.

There’s always room for one more, brother.

America's latest cutting edge Defenses sold to Saudi Arabia failed spectacularly in the face of cheap Houthi Drones. Saudi Arabia needs to upgrade from "made by Mattel" toy weapons from America. ha hahttps://media.giphy.com/med...

I keep electrical tape over the camera. One friend and I made up a whole list of NSA cast of characters (who is assigned to our calls) for when we have our lengthy chats that often times include politics/issues. As much as I feel they should not be invading my privacy, I want them to know what I think of this bullshit and sometimes I will even ask them to pass along my thoughts to whomever I/we are speaking about.
