If you're talking about Trump U, the people were defrauded. I doubt they were wanna be criminals...they were largely lower middle class people(from what I have read) who just wanted to make more money, and have more comfortable lives. Trump U was/is not the only real estate education scam running, then or now. But Donnie's would be a great scam to prosecute...and high fines and jail time would serve as a powerful warning to other folks doing these kinds of scams.
I dated a guy who had an 11 year old son. On our 2nd date, he told me he(dad) had just become uncool...his son had asked him not to hug him in front of his friends any more. And to please drop him off down the street from the school. It's a tween/teen thing. Most of them grow out of it. He and his son are very close now.
