Can I tell you how long it took me to make this simple little gif? So long. The things I do for you all… but like seriously, I’m never going old school again. Computer assistance forever!
I tried tossing in a couple of mashed bananas and a scoop of sour cream into the standard Toll House recipe and made a sheet cake/bread out of it. So good, moist, and super easy!
I have been trying to read even-handedly about Israel and Palestine and it makes me want to cry. They're both wrong! And they're both right! Israel is oppressive! Hamas's explicit goal is to kill all the Jews!
And they both claim historic injury and insult. "You hit me back first!"
Somehow everyone's got to figure out a way to say, "Yeah, fuck all the history. We were both wrong. Here's 15 million people* and a chunk of land, we can figure out a way to make it all work."
And while I'm wishing, I would like to win the lottery please.
*15 million? It's what, 9 MM in Israel and the OPT plus another how-many million refugees outside of Israel? I dunno.
I still say No, they don't HAVE TO fight this war because it won't work any better than all the other times they have fought with Gaza. What they HAVE TO do to resolve the question is build up Gaza and the Palestinians at large as a livable modern polity. ie, share what they have achieved.
The giveaway is that the movement to war was so reflexive. It's about rage, not equity. And about Netenyahoo's miraculously unexpected opportunity to rally support for himself. There has not yet been any visible thought for doing anything else.
War is BAD. War is ALWAYS BAD. it's BAD when really do have to do it (UKR), when you don't have to do it it's EVIL. That's why Hamas is EVIL. Don't be like Hamas.
I don't have a penis yet I would totally understand if men became outraged if a bunch of women decided that all men should be circumcised - or not, or that all men should get vasectomies, or put tattoos on their dicks. Yet, even with those examples, I can't even come close to thinking about ANYTHING that women regulate wrt men that endangers their lives like pregnancy does to women. And yet SCOTUS dinguses actually believed that women would just forget all about Roe v Wade being overturned within 6 months before an election.
Just browsed that one (well, half or so of it). It's just companies complaining that people are staying, so they can't hire cheaper people, and sometimes they can do layoffs to cut costs. Just companies getting what they asked for - stop resigning en masse please! - and then regretting it. Also something about companies using machine learning to predict the number of openings, and then the actual number being much lower.
People are free to decorate however they like, IMO, but yesterday I saw a house with a Christmas tree inside and Halloween gack still on the lawn and this should not be a thing.
My unsolicited and unwanted advice, for Maine, the Middle East, Middle America, and everywhere else, is: Don't kill. Also, if you're going to steal, steal bread from the rich, not land from the poor. Also, don't forget to floss.
I think it's amazing that they found the *perfect* rooster to match that sofa in the château in the Tarn. I kinda want one for our kitchen, where we put all the color.
I'm delighted you found that WSJ paywall hack, because I miss reading those frenzied, paranoid, hilarious WSJ op-eds in much the same way I miss Weekly World News.
I just put two and two together and holy shit, Rebecca! I used to protest GW1 in TO with you. If that doesn’t ring a bell, I was riding home from the LA protest with you when that woman drove head-on into your car. #bimbosforpeace

Oh, also too, I have some chocolate chip cookie links for you. https://open.substack.com/pub/martiniambassador/p/hamster-in-it-up
The adorableness suggests it was all totally worth the effort.
Oh gosh, Martini, that's is just the cutest, most adorable critter ever. Except for the Moopsi, of course:

You know, I've never watched that show. I should, though... looks right up my alley.
It's the funniest Star Trek ever. You could even use clips for the morning gif, except for the Paramount police crashing through your windows.
It's mesmerizing, and prompted me to eat ALL of my Vietnamese Coffee Twist in little bites before anyone else could get up and have any.
Maestro!
;>)
I rarely comment this early in the morning, but I do love your gifs!
Thank you dear!
Thank you for your service. Brings back good memories of watching Hamtaro with the kids. Nom nom nom nom...

Oooh! I think I might have to try that. Yum!
Gerbils make their own chocolate chips.
Ewwww.
They ate the whole cookie!!!
Can't you just aim the camera at the plushie and hand it a cookie?
That is a lot of unique bites to make that cookie disappear. Well done.
Those little fangs look sharp!
/drops to ''I am not worthy'' position, or genuflects, if you prefer/
Your work is much appreciated.
Indeed. ❤️
Thank you dear Linda. I love doing it. Sometimes I have to be smarter with my time, though 😆
And yet sometimes... sometimes you have to prove yourself smarter than the computer. And that can take a while.
THAT is so true, CD.
On the election last night, the dimmed torch flame on the Statute of Liberty got a little brighter.
Hrm, testing....

seems like poor poor Alex Jones is not going to be able to use bankruptcy to weasel out of the payments to the Sandy Hook families. womp womp.
The Chateau is way too busy for me. Whatever happened to simple elegance?

FFS - I got even more pissed off as I wrote this!
Argh! The MSN link won't let me read it unless I download their app. My poor little phone doesn't need more apps.

re: Fancy Mansion in France
It seems like they (delightfully!) took their color schemes for all but the bland ones straight off that rooster perched on the couch,. Kinda cool!
I kind of live for the day it'l be TABS *all* day.

Grace I knew exactly who you were before you mentioned the car accident. Remember when we went and bought thrift store prom dresses to protest in?
This thread is adorable.
Yes! I think I still have photos.
well you're going to have to find those, aren't you!
