Probably been said before, in this thread even, but Lil Marco is not nearly as pretty (to Trump) as Kristy Noem, nor does Lil Marco possess the necessary secondary or primary sexual characteristics to get Trump's attention (however briefly.) Plus, Kristy has already proved her "I'll fuck anything for power" credentials by engaging in an allegedly consensual (OMFG) adulterous affair with known woman abuser Corey Lewandowski. She's well groomed to be a Trump acolyte. She wants it.

Marco does know that he himself once said that donnie has a small dick doesn't he?

He said it out loud and there are recordings of him talking about hand size = dick size. Someone roll the tape.

Everyone knows what he was saying, especially donnie.

Ain't no way Marco is going to get the nod. Someone needs to nudge Marco and get him to wake up already. Jesus! How embarrassing.

I'm afraid, 3D, that we have to be embarrassed FOR him, because if he had any speck of pride he would step in front of a train. A born lackey, this mincing little homunculous thrives on the scorn he invites, because at least it is SOME kind of attention.

That's not what the Constitution says. To paraphrase, electors cannot vote for a president and vice president from the same state the electors represent. So, electors from Florida cannot vote for both Trump and Rubio. This would only matter if Trump won by less than the 30 electoral college votes Florida's has.

Expand full comment

How do they get around the problem of Lil Marco and the Trumpty Hump both being from Floridaze? Can’t have 2 FL men on the ticket together. Does anyone read the damn constitution anymore?

The constitution? That old thang? Who reads that?

But to answer your question with another question: why should anyone read the constitution when there are six justices on SCOTUS tearing it to pieces?

That much stupid on one ticket would blow up the whole system.

Apparently that rule is circumnavigable because we used to vote for president and vp separately and now they run on the same ticket. Or something. Anyway he’s not about to pick Rubio when he can pick someone far more egregiously evil like Stefanik or RFK Jr.

Well, if Marco does then there goes his Senate seat to fall back on if they lose. Tummy Tubs may actually live in FL but he claims AL on the paperwork. Marco can’t feel that strongly about Hump’s chances. Hump could go claim elsewhere but … can he really? It’s all just utter crap at this point

It would be funny if they get all the way to counting electoral votes before the Humpers realize they can’t have FL electoral votes with both of them on and they lost that way.

Good point. Marco's ego won't let him lose a senate seat and Trump's ego won't let him pretend he lives anywhere but Mar a Lago.

Just fed the dog. She wakes from her afternoon snooze the moment Nicolle says, “Hi, everyone, It’s four o’clock in New York”, which means it’s also 4pm DST in Ocean Pines. Didn’t plan on shopping today, but am about to make a dash for wine & smokes, as it’s Monday night & Rachel might have a word about her ratings-driven, soulless employer. Have contacted them by e- and snail mail. Not surprised, simply perpetually disgusted with MSM, who’ve never been our friends. They know, for a fact, that if Biden wins, every last one of us (MAGA included) will finally tune out of 24/7 news cycle in a collective national sigh of relief and they’ll have to find another business model. whomp, whomp.

Personally, I think they all think they need to kiss Trump's ass, so he will give them access when he's POTUS. I genuinely think they are clueless that Trump is going to shut down every news outlet other than FOX, Newsmax, and OAN, and I'm not even sure he won't shut down Fox, since they're not always totally obsequious.

Expand full comment

Agree that they don’t seem to realize that state-sanctioned news will be the likes of Bannon’s War Room, as the OG outlets are pulled up root and branch as part of their dismantling of the Deep State.

Either they genuinely don't see the danger (a lot of people don't), or they somehow think they're going to be a part of the new world order. When people like LIZ CHENEY are warning you to be afraid of Republicans, you should be afraid.

I keep wondering if the Bidens, the Obamas, the Clintons, Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, Pence, etc..., have plans on bugging out of America if Trump actually wins. I know I plan on leaving. I'm oldish, and not sure where I'm going, but I know I don't want to stay here.

The fact that Rubio is allegedly on TFG’s shortlist for running mate demonstrates once again that TFG (and his advisors) have never read the Constitution. (I know, this is my shocked face.)

The Constitution requires that President and VP reside in different states, or else they don’t get any electoral votes from that state. Last I checked, both TFG and Rubio reside in FL; Rubio isn’t going to move as long as he has his cushy Senate seat to fall back on; and TFG can’t afford to lose FL’s electoral votes.

Why Karl didn’t raise this point is beyond me, but maybe he hasn’t read the Constitution either. Effing “journalists.”

And this decision will be appealed all the way up to SCOTUS, who will hear the case in October 2028.

Expand full comment

I had never heard of this -- it's kind of buried. The way I read it, though, is that eclectors from Florida could vote for Trump (if he wins Florida) provided they did not also vote for Rubio.

If this were to happen, it might conceivably lead to the bizarre situation of Trump as president and Kamala Harris as VP.

IAAL who happened to get the top grade in her Constitutional Law class. 😁 So I pay attention to these things.

Back in the day, the President and VP could be from different political parties. But in modern politics, Prez & VP candidates run on the same ticket. As Seek points out below, this is the reason Dick Cheney moved from Texas to Wyoming to be W’s running mate, because they couldn’t afford to lose electoral votes from Texas if they were both Texas residents.

Good.

I've gotta say (with no irony) that I love the IAAL flex, because it's so great to get actual expert opinions instead of the usual invincibly ignorant drivel one finds on so many fora (present company excepted!).

I post regularly about TFG’s cases in the comments (which are allowed on Substack) and cross-post to notes. I have most of the TFG dockets bookmarked (both trial and appellate), and read the filings, as well as listen to oral arguments.

Fair warning, they are often long, but I try to law ‘splain in a way that is accessible to IANAL folks. I get much greater feedback in the comments, but I cross-post to notes for posterity. If you click on my nym, you can read them.

Not so much, that’s why Cheney “moved” back to WY from TX. I doubt they’re giving up FL votes in the Electoral college to run this dream team.

Expand full comment

Prexactly. So either TFG has to move back to NY (or some other state), or Rubio has to move. Which he won’t, because WHEN TFG loses in November, Rubio wants to keep his cushy job in the Senate.

Today I decided some of us could use a diversion. This is a science question. How in the hell does algae form in clean water when you put it in a clear container, expose it to sun, and wait long enough?

Where do these creatures come from? Are they in the water, just waiting for some sunlight? Are they in the air, waiting and hoping for water and sunlight to get their game on? If in the air, how are they surviving? What do they think they are, tardigrades?
