I think the answer is that the losses are mostly taken by condo unit buyers, contractors and other little people. Any apparent losses taken by "people of means" may be more strategic than real.

Reminds me of something I saw on FB a while back: "My neighbor was knocking on my door at 2:30am. 2:30am! Can you believe it? Fortunately, I was still up, playing my bagpipes..."

I wish when Jackemup N. Ripemoff had decided to sing he'd named names. There's a fascinating documentary about him - "The United States of Money." Just needed names, damn it!

Lets be honest, the whole Trump Klan is in up their rubles in Russian money and are indebted way beyond their means.

Mueller will prove money laundering going back decades, not just campaign collusion.

This is going to be huge.

And yet, they just couldn't bring themselves to Photoshop out the Exit sign. Lends authenticity, I suppose.

“I disagree and, if I did, I never knew it” is one of the best denials of all time. Not because it’s believable, but because it covers so much ground!

I wouldn't be surprised if her photographs, possibly on the desk, or not, were taken somewhere completely different and the whole image was then photoshopped into a "realistic" setting. That would be totally routine. They customarily photograph a cover model (which I think she was here) in a dedicated photography studio, with all kinds of professional lights, shades, controlled backgrounds, etc. It takes a whole day after they've spackled and glued the model into her dress/hairstyle/makeup. If you look at most movie posters, too, the actors are often photographed in completely different sessions, even if they appear to be leaning on each other or interacting. Food styling for food magazines is almost as convoluted!

Just the kind of Lawyer you would expect a Trump to have. He is either

1) A liar and a crooked shyster or

2) So totally incompetent that he, a F'n Lawyer, signs contracts without either reading or understanding what he read that is in the contract.

Proving yet again that Mr Trump only hires the best people.

Yep, you're right; it was a long time ago and I stand corrected. Should have typed "WAS in the pokey" and besides the sins of the father shouldn't necessarily be visited upon the kid, anyway, though I guess that a case could be made re acorn/tree. But, to my larger point; while Jared graduated from Harvard with a degree in "government" and had gone on to NYU to obtain a JD and an MBA, he had no experience in "governance", no Foreign Policy experience and was all of 36 years old. Then, why did nobody in the MSM call bullshit and why are they all Captain Renault "Shocked, shocked" that it just hasn't turned out so well? As I think I've posited before here or elsewhere, anyone who lived in NYC or read the NYC papers in the 80s or hated themselves enough to watch even a minute of "The Apprentice"knew precisely what we were getting. So, Kushner is not the aberration of this administration, he's the symbol of it. If it weren't so damn important and scary I'd say, like the "Jack Kirkpatrick" character in "Airplane": "Shanna, they bought their tickets, they knew what they were getting into. I say, let 'em crash."Then one last thing before I try to do something productive today: The hot word on the TeeVee yesterday and this morning is "unglued"; that DJT was "angry at his staff and his attorney general. So the president “became ‘unglued’.” Someone, Chris Hayes maybe, asked this question last night:"just when, precisely, was this President* ever 'glued'?"

I agree with most of what you write, but 65(?) million of us including you and me, did know, right from the start of the beginning of the Obama presidency, what would happen and who those people were. To borrow a word, it is SAD. I may have my monthly alcoholic drink today..Martini, I think, for maximum effect.I now live in California, partly because I couldn't take what happpened in my previous two, formerly marginally sane states, Maine and Florida.
