A significant portion of PragerU's content, particularly on topics like climate change and energy policy, contains factually inaccurate or misleading information. Wikipedia says some videos promote fossil fuels, criticize renewable energy, and deny the scientific consensus on climate change. These videos have been criticized by organizations like Climate Feedback, Reuters, and The Weather Channel for promoting inaccurate and misleading claims.
PragerU's content has been scrutinized for:
Climate Change Denial:
.
They have been accused of promoting "new climate denial" by downplaying the negative effects of climate change and its associated policies.
Misleading Energy Policy Claims:

Some videos have falsely represented climate concerns as ideological and framed them as part of a "big government" conspiracy.
Misinformation about Renewable Energy:

PragerU has been criticized for making claims about the negative impacts of renewable energy that are not supported by evidence.

I have just started wondering about a post-colonial spin off of Casablanca, following the "vultures! Vultures everywhere!" guy from the opening. What do the Moroccans in Casablanca think about the French being occupied, and their city becoming a haven for Euros who need to escape to the USA?

where are prices are falling or steady? where wind and solar are being built-out. (Crooked Donnie HATES wind and solar, ergo he LOVES high electricity prices)
I don't know why ANYONE is taking seriously his meetings and negotiations with Mr. POO-tain. How the fuck does anyone think he's negotiating on behalf of Ukraine when Ukraine and and the EU are saying they won't do what he is trying to offer.
I wish NATO were otherwise able to defend Ukraine without needing the US.
They need to fund (more), to ramp up production (started), to free Ukraine to use weapons inside Russia, to replace US intelligence and whatever else they can, to ultimately enter the war in some capacity, no-fly zone or boots on the ground. It's their war too. Mostly they need to sell all of the above to the voters.
I know his brain is old gym-mat sponge saturated with cat piss and the puked up white cider of a teen night out but what does he mean "some things never change!!!"? Is this just another of those stupid things like "the late, great Hannibal Lector" where he doesn't understand a phrase but knows people say it so uses it incorrectly?
Also, more importantly, it's telling that he thinks Crimea being "given" "without a shot being fired" is a bad thing. He really does like the idea of the spoils of war, despite being a coward who would never actually fight for anything.
I misunderstood the DHL guy. I thought he said he was here (ici) but what he really said is he'll be here in 10 (dix). Crappy connection plus weak language skills. Now I'm killing time in the lobby.
I've been working on French numbers in my head when I swim laps (so on lap two I'll count up or down by 2, etc) and I'm much faster at generating them but I seem to miss them when practicing listening. Like they're an entire caregory of word my mind doesn't consider part of conversation, segregated away from all the other words.
I'm good with numbers in French, usually. Though the ones in the 70s, 80s and 90s drive me kind of nuts. What kind of mad language calls 91 four-twenties-eleven?
"Danish also uses a vigesimal system (base 20) for larger numbers, especially 50-90, which can seem illogical to those unfamiliar with it. For example:
50 is halvtreds (halfway to three twenties, or 2.5 * 20).
I hear that the French speaking Belgians and Swiss have dropped the silliness and come up with words for these numbers. 70 is now septante instead of soixante-dix (60, 10).
Oh my gosh yes it’s such a mental hurdle at first, and again hearing them is so tricky. “Hmm they just said twelve, did they say sixty just before that?”
Strasbourg used to belong to Germany and an awful lot of people speak German here. The part of town I live in was built when Germany owned the area. The French renamed a lot of the streets for heroes of The Great War when they got Alsace back in 1918.
One thing that's very, very nice about Italy is that people like to try their own English with you and that they are not snobby about English-Italian in the way that every Parisian I've met has been snobby about English-French. If they understand the point you're trying to make, they're not too fussed about grammar.
My only problem with French people and language is that they don't give me much of a chance to practice my French on them. They all switch to English as soon as they catch my accent. If they don't speak English, we muddle through and laugh a lot.
When I was in Marseilles I found that really frustrating, because I was trying. I wasn't having full conversations about the development of satire and its role in the revolution or deconstructing original texts by Derrida or owt, I was just ordering a sandwich and coffee and the guy at the bar was "I can speak English". Yes, I know, thanks, but I don't want to be a dick to you- and you're French. You have no idea how much it takes for me, English as hot tea on a hot afternoon, not to want to be a dick to you, being as you're French.
My best moment in Berlin was being in a bakery and ordering some fucking pastries and the person behind the counter *didn't automatically switch to English* on me and spoke German back.
I even clarified the number of croissants what I wanted in German.
Natch I didn't fool her for a second into thinking I could speak proper German, but it was just pleasant. Even being sort of patronized was nice.
I generally like French people, not being English and all. My French accent is good enough that sometimes I get through two entire sentences before they see the blank look on my face and realize I'm not a native speaker. I really have to work on listening comprehension.
A few weeks ago, Jesse Watters commented that if Democrats were going to stand up for people kidnapped and taken out of the country to a foreign prison where they would be brutalised they needed to find a perfect victim. We knew that was bullshit, because in the lens of the right's just world fallacy, literally any offence, no matter how slight, is distorted to make whatever punishment they respond with valid. The only issue is how much effort they will need to put into spinning it.
This is illustrated perfectly here.
Gazan children starving to death do not count as victims of famine, because they also had other illnesses.
The just world thing goes both ways- victims aren't really victims and wrongdoers aren't really wrongdoers.
The world is fair.

The horrors of 7th October 2023 are somewhat overblown. A lot of the victims murdered on that day had other illnesses and/or health conditions. That should really lower the tally, if you think about it.

I wish NATO were otherwise able to defend Ukraine without needing the US.
They could in fact do it without the US, if they had the political will, which is to say the will to sell it to their voters.
I think the problem is with funding defense efforts. I think the will is there, but will the machinery be?
They need to fund (more), to ramp up production (started), to free Ukraine to use weapons inside Russia, to replace US intelligence and whatever else they can, to ultimately enter the war in some capacity, no-fly zone or boots on the ground. It's their war too. Mostly they need to sell all of the above to the voters.
The alternative headline would be: "European leaders volunteer to accompany Zelenskyy to prevent a second ambush."

Morning, Diane!
Good morning!
Good morning, Diane!

60 is tres (three twenties).
70 is halvfjerds (halfway to four twenties).

90 is halvfems (halfway to five twenties)."
I hear that the French speaking Belgians and Swiss have dropped the silliness and come up with words for these numbers. 70 is now septante instead of soixante-dix (60, 10).
My favorite is 99: four 20s, 10, 9.
You said 420! Ha!
Oh my gosh yes it’s such a mental hurdle at first, and again hearing them is so tricky. “Hmm they just said twelve, did they say sixty just before that?”
And if they throw in heures or euros I don't know if they're telling me the time or how much to pay.
Boy you said it.
You should have demanded he speak English.
😂 GM Bob
Yeah. That goes over real well here.
If they're not responding to your liking, speak up!
Condescension at volume, let them know who they're dealing with!
You can't successfully fight the French when it comes to condescension.
This is true, even the rural French seem to regard it as a skill worth developing and perishable enough that it requires frequent practice.
We English speakers need volume if we're to have any success
Tell him he'd be speaking German if it weren't for us.
Strasbourg used to belong to Germany and an awful lot of people speak German here. The part of town I live in was built when Germany owned the area. The French renamed a lot of the streets for heroes of The Great War when they got Alsace back in 1918.
