Is Sidney Powell On The Lam? Or Is She Just PATHETIC?

How pathetic would it be if a member of Donald Trump's Elite Sixty "Win" Lawyering and Cosmetology Task Force was ducking a process server like some deadbeat dad on the run? Boy would the "45th President" be embarrassed, right?

Wait for it ...

Powell evaded service of process for weeks, forcing Dominion to incur unnecessary expenses for extraordinary measures to effect service, including hiring private investigators and pursuing Powell across state lines.

Oh, Sidney. Show some dignity, woman!

Dominion Voting Systems, which is suing Powell for $1.3 billion alleging defamatory claims about their election machines' role in the 2020 election, told the court yesterday that, while they're fine with her taking extra time to respond to the complaint, this whole mess could have been avoided if she'd acted like a grown up and not forced them to chase her around the country. The summons was issued on January 8, and Dominion didn't manage to effect service of process until January 28, almost three weeks later.

"As a professional courtesy to opposing counsel, Dominion does not oppose the motion for extension of time filed by counsel for Sidney Powell and Sidney Powell P.C.," Dominion's attorney Thomas Clare wrote , "But the record should reflect that ... Powell refused to respond to requests from Plaintiffs' counsel about executing waivers of service of process (which would have extended the time to respond to the complaint)."

Powell's attorney Howard Kleinhendler denied that his client would do anything so underhanded as to hide from Dominion, telling  Forbes  that "Ms. Powell had no reason to evade service as she looks forward to defending herself in court," but that she "has had to take extra precautions concerning her security, which may have made serving her more difficult."

Well, okay. But, as CNN's Katelyn Polantz notes, it took two members of the Biltmore Forest Police Department in North Carolina to accompany the process server to make sure Powell just took the damn piece of paper without a fuss.

In summary and in conclusion, it's all so tawdry and pathetic and small.
